there could be any combination of things that's going on with him. he could have reduced PP time, reduced ice time, less offensively inclined team, etc. It's hard to say and those are only guesses. I guess he could just have been a waste of a pick, too. Who knows if we'll even see him in NA
but if you want to compare zidlicky and niskala (they're both playing in the same league):
zidlicky: 29GP 3G 15A 18PTS -3 (Age=27)
niskala: 32GP 5G 10A 15PTS +2 (Age=23)
z man only has a few more points in 3 less games and a worse +/-. I know that's not the end-all-beat-all but it's all us here in NA have to go on. I'm not discouraged yet. I saw niskala at rookie camp and he reminded me a lot of zidlicky. I think he has the potential to be a zidlicky/timonen-esque player.
