What I like most about this is Martys confidence in his game and the desire he has to keep playing.

That's awesome, but the flag at the top should be an NJD logo.

Or because both Zach and Suter are signing here for a cap hit of 5 mill

be optimistic

Remember when people here were begging for Marty to retire the past 2 season? Boy does fun spring run & a SCF final change all that

#NJD Brodeur said if CBA wasn't set to expire that a one-year deal could've been viable option. Not about $$, but security

There were times at the end of the season I really wanted more Hedberg starts to keep him fresh for the playoffs. I really wanted Hedberg to start once a week cause we didn't have back to back games. Just for the last few weeks in March I'm talking about.

Marty played a lot better when he started playing more often. I don't wanna discredit the team either. We started playing a lot better, and limited defensive breakdowns, and he played the best I've seen him play in years after the ASB. A couple clunky games here, and there, and in the playoffs a couple, but that's normal for all goaltenders especially for a young Brodeur years ago(Lemaire pulled Marty quite a few times in 95 before they won the Cup. Once even after he merely gave up one goal in a period)

I wasn't psyched about 2 years cause of the 35+ BS clause in the CBA, but I'm glad he's said he will honor the two years, and will play even if there is a lockout. I trust him.

It's sad that they wouldn't be shocked if they locked out. How Bettman can have 3 locked out seasons and still be employed would be beyond me. Better not get there.

Marty has the wins record even without SO wins now.

Feed that to the troll, I refuse to go to the main board until something good happens.

Trust me when the first softy happens they'll be calling for it all over again!

''****in Marty! TWO MORE YEARS OF THIS! WTF ARE WE GONNA DO?!!!!''

Marty was playing great the second half of last two seasons. Don't know what was up with last season first half. Could have been the injury. Made the big saves, but gave up a lot of simple goals. First half of the season before the whole team was playing bad. Marty was no exception, and even Lemaire pretty much said everybody aside from Patty lost their confidence Marty too.

Jim is on it. He is so hitting 700 wins. It's actually absurd to really wrap your mind around how many wins that is.

He'll have to be the starter both seasons to hit 700. It's possible, but it will be crazy to see him still going at 42.

If anyone could hit 700 wins, it's Marty.

Marty has like 42 shootout wins I believe? Might be one or two off. I believe he is tied for most shootout wins or maybe has two more than the royal, and beloved King Henrik. Some of his fans have claimed ''The shootout does not count.'' LOL!

656-42= 614.

He probably would've gotten around 40 wins in 2004-05 if there wasn't a lockout. They cancel each other out.

Good. As much as I hate losing to Brodeur each and every time the Devils play the Habs, I wouldn't want to see him anywhere else.

Don't forget to tack on another 30 or so wins for the season he was injured not too long ago. He would be past 700 already.

Great seeing Brodeur retire in New Jersey. I hated the thought of him ending up in an another uniform. Would not seem right otherwise.
