This is the worst UFA time ever. I was hoping it'd be fun since 7/1 finally came on a weekend day and I wouldn't have to take a day off or be extremely distracted at work... then today happened again. Goddammit! zzzzzzzzzz

Read these boards and it's pretty clear that the opposite is true.

If he's hauled up in his office making his decision the media shouldn't be bothering him. When he goes home just tell the media he hasn't made a decision yet. There was no need for a press conference. Make you're decision by yourself and handle it like Suter is. Then I'll be happy.

At least if he's going to take his time do so like Ryan Suter (QUIETLY). Don't call some pointless ass press conference for nothing.
He was only playing into the Stanley Cup finals until mid-June, after playing hockey non-stop since October. Im sure he went directly into thinking about free agency. Every word you've said recently comes off as sour grapes.

Reading all these tweets from butt-kissing media reminds me why I quit being a hockey writer and joined the friggin Army.

That's all I asked. That's what I didn't like. He's not God. He doesn't need to call a press conference to say nothing has happened.

I wonder what excuse youll come up with when Suter is forced to make a public statement on his status.

Hes had 3 weeks since the Cup ended. Even if he takes a week and a half to 2 weeks that still gives him over a week to think about it before free agency even opened up.

If that happened, a certain person on this board would probably have an aneurysm.

There is no excuse. I'd rip him if he did the same thing Parise did. Make your decision in quiet. Don't waste people's time to gather for a conference to say nothing.

The animosity I have towards Parise is because he's preventing several teams from making other moves. Speculation on my part but its what normally happens

Don't see why Parise needs to wait for Doan--they're different players with different strengths (and don't play the same position). Plus, they aren't gunning for the same type of payday. Apples and oranges.

Theres another interesting conspiracy theory. Parise is going to sign with 1 of 3 or 4 teams for 8-12 years with numbers approaching $100M. Remind me how this effects the Rangers and their pursuit of people who are already under contract?

Just stop man. Youre reasoning is getting weaker and weaker. Picking at straws. You just want to hate him.

Go outside or something, if anything happens it will still be here for you to see when you get back.

Parise doesn't affect the Rangers either because he's nothing coming here.

I don't see what's so hard to understand about my comments. It's a **** move to do to call a press conference for nothing. If he makes his decision in his own privacy and takes his time then more power to him, don't call a press conference for nothing.

PHX did not qualify Gilbert Brule

The Rangers were reportedly(Jim Matheson) interested in him last fall if EDM put him on re-entry

http://www.snyrangersblog.com/2011/1...gilbert-brule/

PHX claimed off re-entry in January

Right handed center. Can also play RW. 37 points in 65 games in 09-10. Injuries have hurt him.

Brule is a good faceoff guy.

Faceoff numbers from 10-11

Quote:
Eric Belanger: Shoots left, 1297 faceoffs, 56.7% even-strength success rate
Sam Gagner: Shoots right, 935 faceoffs, 42.8% even-strength success rate
Shawn Horcoff: Shoots left, 813 faceoffs, 50.7% even-strength success rate
Gilbert Brule: Shoots right, 199 faceoffs, 52.5% even-strength success rate
Ryan O’Marra: Shoots right, 178 faceoffs, 42.9% even-strength success rate
Ryan Smyth: Shoots left, 132 faceoffs, 46.2% even-strength success rate
Taylor Hall: Shoots left, 105 faceoffs, 41.6% even-strength success rate
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Shoots left, did not play in the NHL last season
Anton Lander: Shoots left, did not play in the NHL last season
Lennart Petrell: Shoots left, did not play in the NHL last season
http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/201...camp-leverage/

$525,000 is NHL minimum salary. The Rangers found John Mitchell and he gave them some good minutes.

Well, personally, your hypocritical stance of originally saying you dont give a damn what Parise does followed by several posts like the one above bothers me a lot more than what Parise did.

Amazing amount of hatred for a simple press conference.
