Haha, if he resigns with us for anything close to the numbers that are floating around, it'll be funny to watch, once the euphoria and gif-parties pass, all the the doomsdayers lamenting about how the franchise is now crippled by a terrible contract.
And how all of us will show just how many F's we'll give :
Interesting - is it true that the difference between our current cap commitment and our actual spend commitment is only $2MM? If so, then the "budget" vs "cap" may be less of a difference than we all assumed. Plus isn't it in Brick City's best interests to have the best team fielded to drive up price for their half?
Not psyched about Hedberg getting two years cause of the BS 35+ clause in the CBA. Wasn't psyched about Marty getting it either, but gotta make some compromises.
If anything it probably just may mean I'm right on one thing. I said I didn't feel comfortable with Kinkaid, or Wedgewood full time backing up until Marty is retired. With Marty's injury history 3 of the last 4 years we have no real proven goaltender if he were to miss time. This may be the exact reason they signed Moose for two years after getting word Marty wanted two more years. Still hope to see possibly Wedgewood slowly transitioned in. Maybe giving him a start or a few this year, and some next year to see how he does.
