I believe I heard on TSN radio that the Flyers have made huge offers to both Parise and Suter. I could see it going down. A cup contender in a great hockey market and the intrigue of playing with Giroux for Parise and with Timonen or Coburn for Suter........it could happen
Something tells me that the intrigue of continuing to play with Weber is more alluring than the intrigue of playing with Timonen (a guy who won't be around for a lot longer) or Coburn (great player, but not on par with Weber). If Suter goes to Philly it's going to be more about the money and about Suter thinking he'll have a good chance to win, and not so much about getting to play with Timonen (again) or Coburn.
free agent frenzy is the fun the first day, rest is just a pain since I hate to wait for the better ones to make their decisions..
it was way more fun, if they would create a rule, that players not signed on July 1rst should not be able to make 1+m..so everybody would have to be signed at the 1rst and people could really enjoy those shows on tv.
I believe thay have approx. 10 million in cap space with Voracek to sign.
IMO, this does go down, I see Holmgren trying to move Briere and possibly Meszaros.
The problem with moving Briere is that if Schenn can't handle the load of a second line center, we really lose out. I could easily see us moving Meszaros if we sign Suter.

This is absurd. Free agency isn't about providing TV entertainment for the fans.
I hope you don't follow the NBA (where players actually take their time evaluating offers before signing).
If I was a Devils fan I wouldn't even want to sign Parise. Lou is over paying on players big time. Brodeur for 2 years\4.5 million is like signing Parise 30 years/250 million.
TheFourthPeriod: @jeremy_aaronson Kings are out, also.
Please let it be true.
If Parise goes to the Kings, the best scenario would be a SCF rematch with Parise losing again.. ala Hossa.

Haha... No. Last time I checked, ownership cares a lot about attendance money and in case you haven't noticed, Brodeur is KIND OF a popular draw in NJ. If it was an equivalently skilled 40 year goalie with no fan equity in NJ it would be ridiculous, but even if Brodeur is only average in the next two years, the organization as a whole will benefit from his presence. When Brodeur retires, attendance will drop significantly.
You know the longer the takes the greater the chance he ends up in NJ. The only reason he is waiting is because a "trusted" team says give us last crack at it.
With the recent moves with Brodeur / Hedberg, the purse strings seems to be loosening.

not really..I mean just check what others got..4.5m per is just fine in a 70m cap world.
the twits told me all but pit, min, and nj are out + nj will be one of the final 2. he's probably picking where he's going (pit/min) and giving NJ an opportunity to match/beat it

That might be the dumbest comparison I've ever seen...besides the fact that you're implying Brodeur is washed up, which he isn't. I'm just baffled where you came up with 30 years 250 million as a comparison...just leave.
