a lot of the same things were said about paul martin when he left the restrictive devils system. he was going to be a norris winner in the pens system. iirc there were several big ufa signings by shero this off season and i believe they trying to trade off any of them they still have left as failures.
remember when the pens do of letang, orpik, michalek and martin was supposed to have given them a leg up on the league? last season it totally fell apart when letang got dinged.
neither martin nor michalek were worth a damn and orpik turned out to be too slow.
