To trade 2013 #1 for good RFA would be better probably.
Mojo is going to play on the Ovi - Backstrom like. GMGM said he liked the chemistry between 90 and 19 so for now thats where he is penciled in. Laich would be best fit on the 2W with Semin or another FA. Also Ribeiro can resign or be extended. There are plenty of ways to make it work. Just need a GM with some balls to do it.

OUCH

Any top four that includes Hamerlik isn't going anywhere
if hamrlik and carlson play the way they played in the playoffs thats a good top 4

Hamrlik is also just fine if he doesn't decline this year. The main concern with him is that playing too much in the regular season may wear him down for the playoffs.
Um.........yes..........as I recall that was the top four in the playoffs and I wouldn't fault any one of those D as being the cause of a second round exit.

I agree, Hamrlik looked done in the playoffs. He can still be an effective player on the bottom pairing, but he should be scratched once every few games for Erskine/Sarge/callup during the regular season so he can be ready come playoff time. Good to have a player of his experience in the lineup.

He is. He's also ancient and an excellent "babysitter", which is why I want him pushed to 3rd pair - to save valuable minutes, and get Orlov a great developmental partner.

Its not BS. You are talking about a kid who have stepped into the 2W hole perfectly and he is choosing to play in the KHL for two more years. If you trade for Ryan, sure he can end up hurt and a lost career but he is healthy now and you get to use him now. Im not all for waiting for a kid who isnt 100% committed to the NHL, 2 years from now.

Sarge Beagle Aucoin, who we are talking with, all showed a lot of promise last season so I am more than happy with our current roster. We are all touched.

Christ thats the speech to a T. Makes me want to puke thinking about how he still has a job.

I thought he played well for the most part, just seemed very tired, which is expected given his age. I just think he could be more effective come playoff time if he sits out a few regular season games

Stalberg provides no cap relief. He's on a cheap second contract.

What's Tallon gonna say publicly, no we're not interested so as to close any possibility of the trade happening?

Twitter at least makes it all entertaining...

To me Eklund's post reads (between the lines) like "out unless price drops"...

Hamrlik is not going to last another season as a top 4 defender. Especially if we move to a more offensive system....Mr. Lead feet isn't going to cut it....

If I'm right, that means that Orlov, Shultz, or Erskine are pushed into the top four. Shultz and Erskine have basically topped out their potential and neither is a top-4 defender.

Ted just posted some big long article on twitter about how having so much cap space doesnt mean you have to use it. Like I said, be prepared for the same old **** for the 6th straight year.

I guess one use for the cap space would be trading for a Parise/Suter cap casualty...a Kane or a Coburn.
