So even though the stats prove otherwise if Ryan was marginally better than Semin do you think the difference in the 2 is worth Pleks and probably a prospect and pick?
Right, stats means everything. This ain't NHL 12

Anyway, others already answered...

Is MB going to continue the tradition with "we tried really hard... but fell short." ?

Nice deal for both Hudler and Calgary. Good fit, I think.

Is Mueller really a UFA ? Not on TSN's list anyway. Got heavy concussions problems last season.

I'm giving MB three years to turn this team into a perennial contender.

I'd prefer that we don't give all our attention to the only pretty girl in the room just because of a lack of other options. The team has a good idea of who the UFA's will be in the subsequent seasons and are hoping to either draft some more good talent along the way or make a few key deals.

Lets tweak things bit by bit - not hack and slash.
Agreed. I can't believe that so many fans want to go back to the Gainey/Gauthier methods. Brisebois said it best. We just have to wait for our horrible contracts (Gomez, Markov, Gionta, Kaberle, Bourque to a lesser extent) to expire. Only the most delusional of fans think a GM can trade those poison pills.

Wait, draft, develop, win.

Well its too early to say if he is done, but historicaly not a lot of trades are made after the first week of July. Still need a winger for Pleks because IMO bourque is not the solution. Heres hoping MB can pull of a deal or goals from the 2nd line will be at a premium

Why mention Plekanec? Isn't the idea to find a winger to play with pleks? Galchenyuk is still 2+ years away from being a good NHLer.

Ryan is "powering" his way to less production than Semin not only in the regular season but during the playoffs too btw.

Didn't really expect a big offseason from the Habs anyways. They addressed the bottom lines and grit, that's fine.

It will be much smarter to break the bank next offseason with the potentially strong UFA class.

Dominic Moore averaged 15 minutes a game last year, doubt he'd want to sign for a $1 million to play about 8 minutes a game.

I think Moore has family problems (his wife got cancer) and he is kind of on a long term vacation to take care of his family.

Brulé, a right -handed shot and still about 25 y.o., would be a good fit centering the 4th line.

Yah stats don't mean anything. You don't win cups by scoring more goals than the other team, you win cups by weighing more than the opposition.

Okay, how about a combined 19 points in 8 games with Pacioretty, who was his linemate, during the WC with team USA? Stats too, but also a telling sign that he has chemistry with Pacioretty.

cause ana wants a 2nd line center and would have to be involved in any trade for ryan.

2nd Round Pick is the king of one year, 1 million dollar-ish deals and he would play more like 12 minutes a game + PK giving Plekanec opportunity to focus on offence for once
