His numbers and play don't come close to justifying the cap hit. And he takes a lot of stupid penalties. No thanks.

Yes Parise is a better two-way forward than Kane.

He had bad year

But he was reliable 2 way player for last few years

He also would be playing in system more offensive then NY's.

If Parise is a better offensive threat than Kane he should be averaging 10-15 more points a season, the game is a bit different in the eastern conference.

I like what Parise always says: "In the game now, if the goalie sees the shot he's going to stop it 99% of the time." His game is more suited out west IMO.

That's the attitude we need. Kane scores less goals because he isn't gritty and last year we had no net presence, he still has a fantastic wrister.

Kane's a much, much better playmaker than Praise aswell.. so when you look at total offense, and not just goal-scoring ability (in general) than it's Kane as an offensive player.. Parise brings more to the table as an all-round player.. but, like I said, hopefully if we do sign Parise there won't have to be a choice made between the two.

For what it's worth...

Andy Strickland ‏@andystrickland
Told Zach Parise deciding between two teams #NHL

Matches up with Rogers' recent claim that it's down to NJ and Chicago, anyway.

Strickland is reliable. Should add that this was tweeted 3 hours ago.

Wouldn't be shocked 2 find out Parise and Suter are sitting on beaches right now, reading twitter & laughing their ***** off. #decision2012
Could it be true? Is this all a game to them?!

I hope Andy Strickland knows what he's talking about and the Devils are bankrupt!

Nah Q just needs to pull his head out of you know where and put Bolland @ #2 center, then let the chips fall for 3rd center (Kruger, McNeill, whatever...).
So you want to put Bolland in a more offensive role, for a team that already has defensive and goalie issues? No thanks, even with the slightly improvement we'll make via puck possession with Parise. Although without Kane, the difference might not even be that much. Hell, I'd rather see Pirri given a shot at the 2C spot rather than see Toews-Bolland-Kruger-Mayers down the middle. That's a pretty ****** C group, not to mention you have injury issues with Bolland, and Mayers wore out after about 35 games last year. Not even going to touch the Kruger part... but let me just say I'm not a fan.

McNeil is at least a year and a half away, and TT is at least two years away while on the subject of potential prospects to fill the void.

Since Strickland said that, a bunch of different beat writers from a bunch of different teams have said "it's us or NJ!" Including guys from Chicago, Pittsburgh, Carolina, etc.

So even if Zach's whittled it down to just two, no one really knows who those two are. Don't get your hopes up.

Surprised to hear that Hawks players are actively recruiting free agents to come to Chicago. I'd always gotten the impression that they're not really the types to do that.

Oh come on.. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are born salesmen. That shouldn't surprise anyone.

I never got that vibe either, or that they really hang out much other than team mandated functions off the ice.

Didn't I just read a Sun Times article last night, while fighting back tears, that the Hawks were OFFICIALY out of the Parise/Suter hunt?

I'm gonna die from suspense.

Judging from their Twitter accounts, they all seem to spend a lot of time together off the ice.

Especially the Hogs (or former Hogs) and the Swedes. Of course, they're the only Hawks players who really use their Twitter accounts, so naturally it's easier to tell with them.

Jahns is a fan too - he was clearly writing that article with emotion rather than fact.

The Lemonheads one is ok and the Chevy pinball one is ok too, but the Chevy one where they're standing in front of a green screen and the graphics on the car change multiple times is the worst POS I've ever seen.
