Nice! Hudler immediately moves into the top-6 and possibly centering the top line. Pretty fair contract.

Fair value. He does a lot of good things and will help the Flames powerplay.

Sorry, should have put confirmed with link. My apologies mods.

Don't like this contract for the Flames. Should have put that money towards Jokinen.

Your Jokinen right? I never want to see that man in a Flames uniform again.

Oh dear god. This is the first move of Feaster as of late that I absolutely do not like.

I feel like we could have another Bourque on our hands...

You'll love Hudler in the media. He's a funny guy, but he sometimes frustrates you on the ice with his play. One dimensional and has a hard time finishing, at least last year he did. He'll be good for 50 points though.

61 points last year for Jokinen and that would have been a career year for Hudler.

I don't mind the guy, but its questionable if he's a 2nd line winger.

He's played some C in the past, although with the Wings he was a winger. Regardless, he's a top-6 forward that can play three positions (although probably at wing) and gives Hartley plenty of options with the top-9.

If this was to fill the hole on right wing in the top six . . . it's an understandable move, but still, a questionable contract.

If this was to fill the hole on centre in the top six . . . it's a horrendous move. Hudler's awful at faceoffs.

Another Czech, does this mean Jagr is coming.

I am also torn on this, not sure how I feel about it.

Its a good move. You overpaid, but he's better than many people give him credit for. In Detroit the last litle bit, he was stuck in a kind of purgatory; sometimes he played on the 2nd line, others on the 4th. Yes he was inconsistent, but he was light years away from guys like Bertuzzi who play with Datsyuk (sigh).

I think in a solid second line role, he'll score 25 (maybe more) goals for you. When we won the cup in '08, he was a key on our 2nd PP unit (which was more dangerous then than our first). Since then, he has rarely seen PP time which IMO was another Babcock mistake with him.

Good luck Jiri!

Actually I think Hudler was a C until Red wings signed him. If that was permanent? I don't know.

Good luck with him. Happy Hudler deserves a shot, maybe Calgary is the right team.

didn't see this one coming.

I'm OK with it, certainly a big opportunity for Hudler to become the "go-to" scorer he was expected to be in juniors.

It's got some upside to it too, in that Hudler could be capable of higher production than he's shown in the NHL so far if he can click with new linemates.

So much for all the cap space the Flames were going to have.

I like Hudler, he is a good player. Hopefully this works out.

If there were any player on the Wings I wouldn't want, Hudler would probably be near the top of the list, do we really have room for another winger?

Interesting signing. Hudler obviously brought in to add offense.
Contract kinda heavy, but makes sense in this market with a guy in his prime years.
Don't know if this creates any issues with Flames vets that took a "discount" to remain here (eg. Glenx, Gio, Tangs).

I'm pretty mad about this, hate him as a player, he had better work out here or we will be on the hook for one hell of a bum...

Does he have a nmc?
