That would involve Bo actually trading at least one of his crown jewel prospects. Would not hold my breath.

Seems planned that the two American stars signed on an Hockeytown USA (Detroit can call themselves that all they want but it's still not true) on the Fourth of July.

Yeah, that's disappointing but I think all of us pretty much believed that they would not sign here.

Well, that was exciting enough. Wild fans could use something to cheer about, I'm kind of happy for them

Pretty apparent that winning was third on their list of priority... With location and money topping the chart

Like I said, there's no way he ended up here.

And the word so far is it's less than a $100m. So didn't we offer more? And if Chicago is such a sought after destination for players and the money was better then what else do we have to do to land a decent FA?

13 year 98mil for each.

I'll pass on Suter. He's not worth that. Zach sounds about right but 13 years!

7.5M cap hit for Parise is much less than I expected.

Seab contract > Suter

Really the Preds have only themselves to blame for letting Suter get to this point

Should have signed him to longterm deal last summer before UFA even became an issue

"America, **** Yeah" "Here to save the mother ****ing dayyyyy"

thats the song from Team America that I am sure Parise and Suter will have playing in their limo as soon as they step out of to address the crowd in Minny!!

Happy fourth of July Minny...you just landed arguably the best 2 American born players within minutes of each other!!

Have to agree with this right here Suter would have been on our second line, it's sad to miss out on both but at least the silly nucks have a tougher time racking up 120 points this year

1.Well you have to admit it is refreshing that a not "big market" and or "usual suspects" team beats the "big boys" and lands the duo in a coup that Bettman can blather--"if they can do it--anything is possible " albeit for an outlay of $198 million (or $196 million depending on which reports are true) over 13 yers for each.

No wonder why Detroit's "puny" raise from $80 to $90 million was laughed at by Suter.. Once Minny put $98 million smakers down on him--he decided pretty quickly
then once he picked Parise's home state, could Zach refuse them at $the reported $98-$100 million when he'd love to play at home and with buddy Suter as he stated (tipped-off) yesterday?

THE Hawks were probably on money and term right there on Parise but probably closer to the Det mark of $90 million on Suter and the hint of their duo discounted price for both means MINNY paid MORE than any other offers combined by any other team for the 2 of them and proves that a smaller market team CAN OVERPAY BIG and still "get the job done" over the big boys..

Congrats to Minny..

Upgrades them to just as much a contender as any in the West... Denies the arrogant Pens of their target and the hockettown U.s.a. pizza kings of their desperate attempt to stall the inevitable fall from the upper echelons..

THE BLACKHAWKS did not NEED either of these now wealthiest of the wealthy guys
(goalie and 2nd line C are the 2 biggest NEEDS) but for P.R. splash and "brand" purposes to show the alpha male flag landing either would have satisfied the marketing dept. As for hockey ops --they can now focus on fixing the real needs and if that cannot be done this year they still have cap room and money to spend on PLAN B depth additions or make a blockbuster "hockey trade"...IT is no big loss for the Blackhwks hockey-wise AND the Central Division balance of power has not changed AND DETROIT has been denied! (That last one is always a good day for the Blackhawks)..

2. NOW the bidding on WEBER will START (I said START) at $115 million over 13 years when he goes UFA (he's crazy if he does not test the market next summer because as we saw SOMEBODY GONNA OVER PAY BIG TO SPLASH and he will easily get $8.8 millin or more per yr. on a 13 yr deal because he is so much better than Suter....

NOW the next time some NHL owner -even small market owner --complains aout not making money--think how MINNY Spent to splash big this year and guffaw in waves of laughter at the liars the " poor" NHL owners (well maybe not NJ or PHX ) really are.

3.Free Agent Frenzy or Completely Bananas Time ---it is not the players fault if the owners cannot contain their enthusiasm...So congrats Minny-this was your time to bask in the sun -but remember--glory can be very fleeting and apparent success very fickle.

4.BTW-you fans in Minny willbe PAYING for this escapade --ticket prices gonna rise -you are in with the big boys now and so wilbe expected to recompense the owner for such largesse. You have graduated from the small market status to run with the big boys now-- and now as a big market expect huge gouging on tickets to see and be seen in the presence of your 2 new gods...

I agree with a lot of this money wise, but to say they Real contender now is sadly misguided they still have probably close to the weakest top 6 forwards outside of Detoit Dallas Phoenix Calgary Columbus , puts them in the hunt for a playoff spot but contender? Do you live in Minnesota ? It's a good day yes but stop sipping that coolade

Blackhawks made offers to both Parise and Suter. They were close on Parise, not as much on Suter
