The Parise hate is ridiculous, everyone is getting mad just because he hasnt made his 100m decision when they wanted him to and now they have to wait. Whatever, the man can take as long as he wants. Its not like the FA is about to end, there is a long summer ahead of us.

And for the record, Parise to Minny(CJ4)

SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $68,130,961; BONUSES: $682,500
CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $2,069,039

Hjalmarsson could get dealt, which would make Brookbank the sixth defenseman and would give Olsen a shot. That would save lots of cap space. You can bet Frolik gets dumped on a team needed to get to the floor for a late pick or prospect.

I sincerely hope that Minnesota gets Parise. I would be sick to my stomach if the other teams who are already full of star players get another star player. Can't win the cup with star players like Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Stall... what's their solution? Add MORE star players... gimmie a break.

...I'm pretty sure they won a cup with Crosby, Malkin and Staal.

I wasn't really thinking in terms of cap space for him to be traded. And I definitely don't want him to be traded. I was just wondering. But I could see Hammer and Frolik being moved to free up space.

So I guess he either stays loyal to Jersey or plays beside the best hockey player in the world and win cups. Tough choice.

Only one of them needs to be dealt to create room for Parise or Suter. If they get Suter, Hjalmarsson and Frolik will go. If they get Parise, Frolik will go.

I was referring more to the middle of the road payrolls. Not the bottom of the of the chain teams. For a sport that has much less revenue streams I cannot believe the owners are shelling out that kind of money. I get the cap is tied to revenues etc just think owners are losing there minds.

Some of us in Canada had the holiday today so I didn 't have that much going on. If he wouldn't have said yesterday he was going to decide today I wouln't have checked all day. Being a Wings fan I was hoping he would sign in Detroit but I think he is headed back to Minnesota to sign there.

Makes sense, but I don't see either of them signing, unfortunately.

Rumor has it the Hawks offered around $100 million over 12 or 13 years like Philadelphia and Minnesota did. No wonder they are now one of the likely destinations.

Though not confirmed, Bowman just threw an outrageous offer on the table.

To Parise? Yeah. I just don't see him signing. I'm trying to be realistic about the situation. But our top six with Parise... we can dream, can't we?

If those are indeed the figures Parise was offered by Bowman and the Hawks, then I can very easily see him signing in Chicago. They offer just as promising a young team as the Pens do. He is also good friends with Kane by all accounts.
'Course, when it comes to the "friends" side of the bill, the Devils win in a landslide for obvious reasons. But we'll see. In the end, if those numbers are correct, then you should most definitely include the Hawks as a definite possibility if you're trying to be realistic.

You make some good points. It just seems too good to be true.
