No offense to Pens fans, but why would he ever sign anywhere else in the Atlantic? It was fairly obvious, IMO. That likely goes for Philly too.

You'll find out if he's only in it for money if he signs with a rival.

Why wouldn't he? Pens offer him great $$$ chance to win with great players, great scheduling/ travel. I don't see your point?

Every team "in it" has very good reason. We've been through it 100 times already. There are tons of good pitches out there. That's why it's a tough decision.

I also (as a Pens fan ), see that if the money is not the issue, the only things that matter are winning and his family. He probably would get a cup in Pittsburgh in the next few years. As for Minnesota, not a true candidate for Cup, but his family/future wife are there.

Not an easy decision.
Agreed that Parise and Suter as a package simply don't make sense for the Hawks.
As long as Dave Bolland is in their bottom-6, calling it "horrible" is gross hyperbole, though.

As far as winning is concerned, neither Chicago nor Pittsburgh can fairly claim to have a real advantage in that category over the other. Actually, both team's flaws are almost exactly the same, and signing Parise doesn't fix them... but it could very likely mask them to a pretty fair degree.

Honestly, buddy.

You're a 27 year old man.

You should be able to make the decision by yourself, not have to ask mom and dad about it.

I respect his need for time, but it sohuld be between him and his fiancée at most.

Speculation by Strickland that according to a few of Parise's good friends, he's already made a decision.

I'm so confused. I give up.

The weird thing for me is why people get so offended about a guy making a decision? If he signs with the Pens - cool. If he doesn't, oh well. We have money to allocate other places. Shero will work trades or do something.

Why are people so damn offended by a guy taking time? It's not affecting you one bit. You aren't playing a game tomorrow. Whether he does sign or doesn't, the results won't show today.

This is going to be the biggest decision of his life, I'm sure getting opinions from family members is important.

Really? You can't ask your dad a former NHL player for advice? Your mom who helped raise you and become who you are?

Cant blame him for taking his time. It's not his fault the rest of the league is waiting. I wish he'd hurry, but it's not like I'm mad at him for it.

What blows me away is literally no news has come since last night...and this thread is basically at 1000 posts

It's not about making a decision, it's about the time it is taking. He is literally holding up the league from signing players. He's made about 5-7 teams believe he could be coming there thus not letting them or other players want to sign. Why would a guy like Semin sign if he knows that he could wait for Parise to sign and increase his value and offers from new teams that didn't get Parise?

He is holding up the Frenzy. If it's true he's made a decision already, then come out and announce it. No need to drag teams around when you know you are not going to play there.

No, that's not what I'm saying. Not surprised people took it there though.

It's his life, his decision.

Personally, in his shoes, I wouldn't need to fly in and have to get my parents blessing to play for a team or not.

I might call them up and say, hey, what do you think? It's not a decision I would really need my parents to be in on though, simple as that.

I do realize it's July 4th though, fyi.

You named two teams that are by all accounts not even in the "first tier" of seemingly likely to get him. Wild, Pittsburgh, Chicago seem to be the more realistic three.
And obviously New Jersey as well.
