I am not going to pretend to have any idea what is going through his mind. I just again have more respect for him for taking his time to make the decision.

I'm not convinced that's entirely truthful. How could the financial situation not have any bearing? It affects what they can offer him right now, it affects who they can sign and retain in the future, and it affects whether he has to worry about the NHL taking over his team.
If he said the financial woes don't worry him, then what excuse can he use to say he left us? I mean if he didn't say that, he could always say he left because he didn't know how things were going to work out..
