I hadn't thought of that angle just yet.

Good point.

It will be interesting to hear what Roy has to say.

He represented everything that was wrong with this team. Good riddance. I can't wait to see how Ott fits in. It's funny people have been talking about landing this guy for a while.

BTW Ott's most common linemate last season was Jamie Benn, so please don't go penciling him in with fourth-liners, he's better than that.

Schopp just said that something might happen soon and then this.

Regier is serious about making this team tougher. That is for certain.

It will be interesting to see if they still have the trade ammo to get Bobby Ryan.

I really like this. I'll love it if/when they add another scorer.

I think Ryan is going to be a lot harder to get now, Ennis / Cody can't be delt without Roy hanging around, and I can't see them dealing Ryan without either of them being in play.

Unless Grigorenko really is going to be playing down the middle this year?

Glad to see Roy gone. Not the biggest Ott fan, but the team will be much harder to play against.

I wish Roy wouldn't have opened his god damned mouth about his injury not being fully healed to next year sometime. Probably cost Buffalo quite a bit in value. Roy will likely have a great year in Dallas.

Ott and Kaleta on the same team?

You're welcome, and our condolences to the rest of the Northeast.

I think you guys will like Steve, so long as Lindy sets him straight and keeps him out of the box so much. That was infuriating to watch as a Stars fan.

Can't say any of us were sad to see Pardy go, though. Maybe he'll turn it around in Buffalo, they must see something in him.

Now, sign Dominic Moore (or equivalent), put Ott at wing, and call it a day.

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Leino-Moore-Ott
Gerbe-McCormick-Kaleta

If Grigorenko can make the roster, I have no idea how to do the lines though...

I do think it is tougher to make a deal for Ryan unless we sign Jokinen though.

I'd been hearing Roy for Ott for weeks. It's an interesting trade, though I expect there to be more. Roy needed new scenery, and Ott can play shut-down center or bring bang to the wing. Where they play him is going to depend a lot upon the moves that follow. (I expect moves to follow this summer.)

Are they going to bury Pardy? If so, Kevin O. at the D&C will be happy, hah.

They could buy him out during the second buyout period if Kaleta takes us to arbitration.
It'd be a $666,667 cap hit for two seasons.
This is Pegulaville: just send him to Rochester and there is 0 cap implications!

Did not see this coming at all. Kind of shocked and really hope it is the precursor to something else coming.

The funny thing about all this is how I saw it happened.... Not HF, not TSN, not Twitter but by scrolling through my Facebook and seeing Afino talking about it

Can someone tell WGR that Ott was second on the Stars in faceoffs last year? He is a center.
