Before everyone congratulates themselves too hard about "winning" a trade, remember this is about the same value we got for Ribeiro.

Yeah i figure you guys get another 2nd/3rd line winger and you'll have quite the scary offensive lineup; a definite darkhorse if you ask me. Dallas is quietly putting together a very nice roster.

Very pleased with this deal.

Otter had a good run in Dallas but you could tell his time was up when Gagliardi was talking about the veteran problem, and then dealt Ribeiro. Combine that with the rumours swirling around Ott at the deadline and you just knew it was inevitable.

So we dump Ott on the Sabres, AND managed to pawn Pardy off on them too.

Well done, Joe!

Wow. Sad to see Otter go. But hey, we knew they had to make drastic changes. This now also explains yesterday's Rome move.

Truth be told i don't watch too many Stars games, most of what i saw from Pardy was back in his Calgary days. He could have regressed last season for all i know; i agree he's overpaid at 2M and absolutely redundant now that you guys have Rome. Rome is better.

I like this trade. One question though, who the **** is gonna win a face off on this team?

I'm very pleased with this. The "casual fan" won't like it, but whatever. Ott's production can be replaced by someone else. We will miss his face offs but just have to make due. You'd always hear him commended for his work ethic and being the "rah rah" guy on the team, but it was obvious when he was taking shifts or even a game off. Then you're just left with a pretty average third liner who takes way too many dumb penalties with a bad league wide reputation. Getting rid of party in the d-zone Pardy's contract is sweet too.

Really a new team we will be seeing. I wish Otter a ton of luck in Buf, really sad to see him leave us but the unnecessary penalty taking will be gone. And also no more Pardy!! Welcome to Dallas Derek!

Looks like you guys are trying to get younger.

Is Brenden Murrow going to be put on the trading block?

I wonder if Gulutzan will be able to blame penalty troubles on the whole perception of this team now that we've removed most of the catalysts, lol. Now just to move Morrow...

If Morrow were to get traded the penalty problems of this team should be completely gone.

Did we just get rid of Woywitka 2.0? That's a win in itself right there.

Sign Doan and we will have a pretty damn salty top six.

This oddly reminds me of the goligoski trade, except we didn't get crappy value. Ott is what he is, a good 3rd line left wing. Pardy is a salary dump. Roy is the most talented player in this deal who might do well here now that he isn't being constantly dogged by Lindy Ruff. We can all ***** and moan about getting younger until the cows come home, but it looks like Joe wanted us to be in playoff contention. I think we're a better team than last year already now.

Morrow and Robi to go. Maybe package them for some picks and someone who can win a faceoff.

If we're going to clean house, can we go whole hog and ditch Morrow too? His parade to the penalty box is no fun. Morrow for Spooner. Make it happen Joe.

Insane how a week ago, the team looked headed straight for a rebuild, and here now the above isn't out of the realm of possibility.

That'd be a God send.

The stuff on twitter is ridiculous. It's like they're acting as if Modano was told not to come back again, except...it's bloody Steve Ott.

Will like the deal a lot more if he re-signs.

Send em to Anaheim for Bobby Ryan. Make Modano promise to hang out with him every weekend and in exchange Ryan signs a 15 yr deal that only pays him 3 million per year.

(Hey we got rid of Pardy, I'm thinking I may as well try to wish for something else and see if it happens.)
