I still think it's strange that the Flyers have not been mentioned at all this week as possible destinations. Sometimes the team least mentioned lands the prize.
This is great news if it is true ! I have ZERO problems with those 2 going to Minnesota or anywhere else for that matter....Both are fine players and seem like quality people etc......BUT not worth the CRAZY $$$$$$$$$$$ MONEY we have heard reported.....A Stanley cup is not worth that kind of money......Rather try to win it with a club that has been together for awhile and has gone through the trials and ups and downs while building a strong sense of team with the community etc.....Makes the victory sweeter.

Parise no longer in NJ? YES!
Parise not playing with Crosby/Malkin? YES!
Pittsburgh clearing all that cap space for nothing? YES!
Homer not adding 8,000,000+ x 2 contracts? YES!

I would consider this a successful day.

Great job by Homer. I really think he cost the Pens both of these guys. The ultimate troll!

Realistically, Semin is probably out for us now too. Detroit will offer him more than we can.

Good for Minny. I still think it will be tough to contend in that division now and in the future, but they're definitely going to be heard from. All three of Detroit, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh are going to throw bat**** crazy offers at Weber next year. I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded now.

They are in trouble if they don't do something with that D.

Even though we signed neither, I call both in the Western Conference a net win. Now.... The odds of us doing something stupid? We'll see.

I already predict 13/143 for Weber.

Best case scenario BY FAR, we don't overpay and they go to the West. Could not be happier.

Homer...go make the push for Weber, that is the type of d-man we need. Glad we didn't pay that money for Suter I really didn't believe he was worth it. Weber is what we need with all the big forwards out there whowere pushing our D around. Also a HEAVY shot from the point!!

Wow, what a sweet day for the Flyers.

PIT downgraded Staal to Sutter and dumped Michalek for nothing in the hopes of landing one or both of Parise and Suter.

They got neither
