watching matt carle the past 3 years I've basically concluded he is leddy if leddy doesn't ever develop any further. he's just inexplicably bad in the d zone at times and its mind boggling.

What the Hawks need are forwards committed to playing the neutral zone in a defensively aggressive manner, thereby helping our defensive as well as offensive games. Semin doesn't help us out in a way that would be helpful to the Hawks aside from in the offensive zone.

Semin has no heart and is issue in lockerroom

Carle is not worth what he will be getting and struggles with same issue people complain about Leddy/Oduya/Keith.. Bigger forwards give him trouble and is prone to defensive mistakes

Pronger covered him in Philly ,, Without Pronger he got exposed fairly often for poor defensive choices

Would have no problem with Semin on a 1 year deal but you just know some team that loses out on Parise will sign him to a long term deal for a lot of money. And that team will not be the Hawks.

Semin is not what our team needs. We need more heart and effort, a better team D. Parise fits that, Doan does too

I wouldn't hate a Carle signing at the right term and price (that he'd never agree to) but I don't want Semin Period.

If we don't get Parise, our next target should be Doan.

Rumor has it that Doan will not go east. Look for him to stay in PHX or sign with the Kings or Nucks.

Well if that's the case, then I hope he stays in Phoenix.

After that last playoff series, I'll puke of seeing him acting like a ****** and throwing high elbows in a Nucks uniform.

Why not? Why would we? A soft puck mover and a perimeter dangler is everything we don't need.

Other than a few fringe FA's, I doubt you'll get any of these guys to sign a 1 year deal. It's a risk but if we could get Mueller signed to a reasonable 2 year deal, I could live with that. I'd prefer Doan though. Suter is undoubtedly going to the Wings and I very much doubt Parise has Hawks on his short list. Stan should be working hard to get the next best thing.

LOLWUT?

Most accounts are making it sound like the Hawks are the reason for this hold up.

Doan is not interested to sign with us. He wants to stay if possible and if not, he wants to go to the west coast

I'll believe it when I see it. If Hawks are really willing to pay that much, they should going after Suter first.

This.

Sounds like the Hawks swooped in with a 12 or 13-year offer exceeding $100 million that's causing the wait.

yeah, right. also, combined with the improvement we can expect from kruger at 2C now he has another year under his belt, i'll be be quite astonished if we don't win the cup with the team we have right now.

In case it want clear that post was so thick with sarcasm that even the titanic could float on it. If i'm not clearly the biggest oduya detractor, im certainly in the conversation.

No Semin please, I hope they pass on Carle too. Carle could be effective but I think his contract will be too inflated to be a worthwhile signing, especially for the years he's likely going to get.

I would like Doan, but I agree with the opinions that suggest he wants to stay West, I don't see him heading to the midwest or East. He's stayed in PHX this long already. With Doan being a 35+, the contract he lands could be too long for the money too. Fun to think about him as a Hawk for a year or two, but I doubt it happens.
