Hopefully Oates learned some things from coaching along side of Larry Robinson. Recall the commentators (not Joe B or Locker but the NBC crew) during a Devils game note that Larry Robinson didn't like the players especially the defenders going down or leaving their feet to block shots as it took to long to recover or get back in play, so he taught them to stay on their feet and block the shots.

Thanks for the commentary on your training camp - I really like Iafrate and I appreciate hearing how he's doing.

A lot of that may have had to do with Brodeur not liking the Devils blocking shots in the first place, though. Something of an organizational philosophy there and I don't know if he'd even try to translate it, but I agree it'd be nice to see him preach smarter decisions in that respect.

Slightly more on topic, it'll be interesting to see how the RW position does pan out given Galiev's potential, the expectation that Forsberg will make the team next year, and Kuznetsov due in 2014.

OT but finally got to watch the first two episodes last night..better than expected. Like how the show starts in 2010. Also good for people to understand the corporate side of making the news and the pit falls.

On topic glad to hear about Wey and Schilling looking poised out there.

On the whole Galiev subject really can't tell at a dev camp. All this won't be decided until September. That is if we don't have a work stoppage.

Heh, on a related note. I was at a Caps game once and the father behind me yelled "Flyers suck!" and his son responded "But we're not playing the Flyers" to which the father said "I know, but you got to teach them young."

Flyers barbs reminds me of when Bobrovsky was in net for the rookie game a couple years ago. He kept accidentally dislodging the net in Kettler every time he went down into the butterfly, resulting in a stoppage of play. One of the guys near me shouted something along the lines of the Flyers teaching their players to cheat at a young age.

Episode three was probably the best so far (outside of the intro to the first episode). There's still something that doesn't feel quite right about it to me though, even though I'm definitely enjoying it. And it's not just the Sorkin dialogue (loved West Wing). Some of the show just feels out of place and a bit forced.

Thursday updates: from twitter: @M_Ann

"Tyson Wilson also missing from Group B, in addition to yesterday's absences. #Caps"

Goalies switching groups, this morning Ostergard and Anderson were in the same group; sounds like Soberg not skating with a group this morning (5 goalies with Kostenko's arrival)

That guy's a walking injury.

I'm going to hit up the equipment sale on Saturday, might stay long enough for the scrimmage, but I've got O's tickets for the afternoon's game.

@Rockthered #Caps #CapsDevCamp Group 2 on the ice. Sitting next to Olie Kolzig in the stands. He's watching Sergri Kostenko like a hawk.

Hopefully Kolzig can do for Kostenko what he was able to do with Neuvirth.

@CapsProspects

Red beat White 6-3 in #CapsDevCamp's third scrimmage. Goals: Bailey, Miller, Vallorani (2), Wojtala, Wilson(R). Civitarese, Quinn, Djoos(W).

Some of us spotted Vallorani early on ha

‏@Capitals101
I may or may not have multiple photos and a video of that Stephenson-Harris fight.

@SWhyno
I don't live-tweet dev camp scrimmages. But Max Iafrate fought Taylor Stefishen after horn. OK, carry on.

re. Whyno's tweet, it was Stephenson not Stefishen. I didn't see Koudys during the scrimmage but a couple of others who post here said they did.
