At the very least it now gives Noel some options.

I love this signing for two reasons... One) I called it (I'll admit as did many others) and two) he will fit
I know he didn't have too much chemistry with Iginla because they are both shoot first not set up guys...
Also Burmi I think will surpass Antro I feel this year, since (as I showed on AIH and in another thread) if Burmi progresses similar to about half as much as last year he'll be a 45+ point player with 2nd line TOI and equal PP time.
Plus Antro wants to play with Poni and has had great chemistry with Poni previously. So my line preference with all that is:
1a) Ladd-Joki-Wheeler
1b) Kane-Little-Burmi
3) Poli-Slater-Antro
4)Mach-Cormier-Mittens/Thor/FA
4th line could be young guns line too with Klingber-Cormier-Machecek...
If we do re-sign welly I'd drop Slater down a line and make Mach/Cormier/Mittens/Thor fight out of the press box

I hope the jets have a lot of play makers, because oli is a natural goal scorer and not much of a play maker, so if oli plays on a line with a bunch of un proven goal scorers, oli will suck, and this signing will suck.

Mittens can be the 13th, and if they want to keep up another forward it could be Cormier (unless it would be better to keep him in St. Johns for more experience).

And that is without even considering the possibility that Scheifele or Telegin make the team.
Agreed it gives us a lot of options heading I into the fall. If Scheifele forces his way on we can always move Little to Rw. I also hope we can get Kyle signed as it will allow us more leeway with developing our youth. They will have to prove themselves capable of being able to play at that level before they make the team.

I think this signing almost guarantees Scheifele will not be on the roster and can spend more time developing which is better for him and the franchise.

I got to say I like this move. Good contract, and I like his size up the middle.

He'll more than likely play with Wheeler who is a very solid playmaker I'm not to worried. The team still need to find a player who can run the pp from the half boards until Scheifele is ready to assume that role.

Still think Mueller is a good fit on RW. With the 2 year deal he is also a nice trade asset if Schief shows he is ready earlier than expected. He puts up decent possession numbers when hes not being used against stupidly good competition.

Congrats guys. I've always liked Jokinen even though he's pretty hated, especially here in Finland. In a way he's like two time Grand Slam winner Marat Safin, he knows what he's worth and doesn't take **** from anyone. Give him the keys to run the offense and he just might step back in the 80 point form. Which would make him the biggest UFA steal.

He's a bit like Kovalchuk, a player who needs 23+ minutes on the ice, but when it's given, he'll surely deliver. Number one center with uprising talent, this should be good. Though I'll mostly follow my long time favourite Canadiens, got to check out least dozen Jets matches with the Chief.

I'm really happy with this.

Two year term is great too, he's motivated and playing for his next contract from Day 1.

Welcome aboard Olli.

Great signing. The type of signing that gets me pumped for what this team can do now. At 2 years is the best part. Loved the articles that some of you guys were posting about Jokinen the other day. This is a top shelf signing and speaks well for the organization. This will for sure help negotiations with Kane. That's not to say they're not going well but it will send a pretty tight message.

Kane- Jokinen- Wheeler

That will be a filthy top line if it happens.

WELCOME OLLI! GO JETS GO!

Good pickup, even if he does look like a blank that god uses when he designs a human male.

Welcome to Winnipeg!
