Wow! Sherman must use some kind of jedi mind trick in negotiations with RFA's. $3.75M a year for four years? That's a steal for EJ. I'm shocked he would take any less than 4, especially on that term.

Even those guys are, as you defined it "senseless" I can tell you the worst one out of them is Braden Carlzer. He was so bad that I point him on my ignore list. Same with zeroknowledge.
Braden Carlzner is hilarious. The guy may actually have a bigger boner for Neuvirth than RECsGuy does for Giguere.
Initial thought on EJ's contract is that it's pretty nice, though I'll need to look at some specifics to make a true opinion. Good to get him signed to some term, at minimum.

I wonder what negotiations are like with Sherman? He seems to be great at getting the $ to be lower.
I would be a bit worried about that too, but from that quote above you it sounds like he's happy with it.
If EJ grows into even close to the kind of defenseman we hope for, this is gonna be a crazy good deal in a year or two. EVen if he doesn't grow his game, and just stays at the same level, I still think it's a good deal. $4M to $4.2 M is about what I'd personally put his value at right now. Can't wait to see where's he's at in year three and four of this deal.

Holy crap. That is ridiculous. Say what you will, but this cap hit way more than makes up for overpaying Jones a little. I was afraid we were gonna see somethin' in the 5 mil range.
Even the stupid people on the main boards will agree that this is a steal.
