Flyers bring back Danny Syvret and Testwuide

Flyers‬ have signed defensemen Cullen Eddy & Danny Syvret, and forward Mike Testwuide to contracts.
We already knew about Eddy, but I am sure BSH is happy as hell that Syvret is back.(I believe they were the one's that were really high on him?)

So 4 Phantoms signings thus far, or 3 if we count Leighton as an NHL.

Can anyone confirm where we stand on contracts?

Meltzer said 47 this morning--including Eddy, but not the others.

I think it is 48, right. Testwuide was already counted as RFA.

Syvret can be a good call-up if we have injuries.

http://capgeek.com/reserve_lists.php...4&year_id=2012

Testwuide is already in this list, Bartulis is bought out and Mathers/Cousins are slide rude, so 46 with Cullen Eddy and Syvret.

Of course that assumes all other RFAs will be resigned. Rowe was not.

So that would be 8 AHL defenseman (9 if Hostetter isnt in the ECHL again): Syvet, Gus, Lauridson, Kessel, Eddy, Konan, Walker, Manning. How many do they typically carry?

Hey Syvret is one of three Flyers in history to score a Winter classic goal. Give this man some respect.

Syvret is a very good AHL dman.

Walker-Gustafsson
Manning-Syvret
Kessel-Lauridsen
Eddy-Hostetter
Konan
(nevermind the pairings, just typed them down as I thought about them, I'm also assuming that Bourdon has the inside track on the 6ht spot with the Flyers)

that's quite a few dmen already there though. Syvret easily makes the group better however, and it would be nice if the Phantoms could turn into a playoffs team.

That's a dude I really hope turns into an NHL guy. Not sure it ever happens, but the guy is enormous. I'd be psyched to have him play bottom pairing with a guy like Grossmannnnnnnnnn and they could just abuse people out there.

Per Josh Rimer:

Danny Syvret signs 2 year deal with the flyers. Year 1 AHL $275,000 or NHL $575,000. Year 2 AHL $275,000 or NHL $600,000.

DFF is he develops the way the organization are hoping, he'll be scary.

In regard to the OP - Syvret is serviceable. And based on last year and the D falling down, I'm okay with this. Why not I say... as long as a Top 6 wing can be brought in, but NOT before another top 4 D is brought in.

Is everyone good with a June 17th, 2013 parade? Pencil just changed to pen on the calendar with these signings.

I've got a hair appointment that I'll try to work around, but don't change it just on my account if it works for the Flyers organization and the city of Philadelphia.

Is Syvret better than Bartulis? It seemed like the only rationalization for buying out Bart was to create contract space.

he is better offensively. That was a major issue with the Phantoms the past couple of seasons. among other things.

Solid ahl signings. I'm a bit surprised Testwuide is coming back. He wasn't qualified was he?
