In all seriousness though Kadri does need more time, the only thing though is our roster is so filled highly paid players with mediocre talent he hasn't been granted the opportunity. With Armstrong gone that opens up one spot, hopefully Burke/Carlyle give him a real chance to stay this year.
Exactly, but more contracts need to be shed:

Top-6ers: Kessel, Lupul, Grabo, JVR
Tweeners: MacA, Kulemin, Bozak, Frattin, Connolly, Lombardi, Kadri
Bottom-6ers: Komarov, Brown, Steckel, McClement

That's 15 forwards vying for 12 spots.

Ideally Connolly and Lombardi get the boot. MacA could also be traded to free up winger space. Frattin may not be ready for the start of the season so Kadri should be able to slide in on the second/third line (depending on position).

No doubt Nazem can put up points and play in the NHL. The question is, will they let him if he is still 160 pounds. Seems every turn I keep hearing they want him to bulk up. Personally I think you put him in the NHL and let him see how NHL players train. He's not perfect but after a year in the NHL -- next year he'll be even better.

Only thing holding Kadri back from being elite is his skating. The weight isn't the issue, it's his lack of speed.

Have you seen him in person? He's not 185 pounds. Just like Tie Domi isn't 5'10 and neither is Doug Gilmour. Small players often increase their height weight. Not sure how it gets by in the NHL -- ask Colby Armstrong. Lucic is also aboult 270 pounds. I know Jay Harrison well and he's had more than one tussel with him. Jay is 6'3 easy and weighs 225-230 -- Lucic is a monster and Jay tells me he weighs 270. Kadri is about a buck sixty-five.

So...the the Leafs exaggerate Kadri's weight up by 20 pounds

But the Bruins exaggerate Lucic's weight down by like 50 pounds?

Ok then.

You know your argument is weak when you have to make up statistics and claim existing ones are false.

I'm 5'8" and not too much bigger then Kadri looks and I weigh 160, weight is deceiving especially on fit people because muscle is much heavier than fat

Big year for Kadri this year imo! I have a suspicious feeling he breaks out!

Kadri aint going nowhere despite what "feelings" Leaf fans have! I think Burke knows what he is doing with Kadri, the same thing he did with Ryan, their paths have been similar. Classic impatience from Leaf fans waiting for prospects. Hope they don't do the same with Rielly.
yo this is very cool...it's incredible how similar it is.

so funny that the kid was drafted 2nd overall, had a 3 year development curve, and i don't ever remember hearing he's a bust.

meanwhile kadri gets ***** on.

I've met Kadri. I'm 185-190 depending on what I had for lunch -- he's much smaller than I am.

Ok there bud

Guess what, Crosby is my cousin, the NHL lists him at 5'11" 200 lbs but he's actually 6'2" 265 lbs.

Trust me on this one

I know its the best reference you have but weight isn't always so simple to guess, at least when discussing the fitness of these guys and the muscle to fat ratios etc..

i don't think birddog is completely off here, a lot of nhl players who are very skinny are listed as 170-190lbs. lucic at 270 i don't buy at all though.

Which is he? Numbers don't lie do they?

Says Komisarik is 243 on the tale of the tape. No way Komi has 23 pounds on him Lucic is the thicker of the two.

But hey -- let's just throw out random remarks when they upset your reality.

Get lost troll, go back to fantasizing about a 270 pound Milan Lucic. If you haven't noticed at the draft combine the players are tested and measured in every which way possible, they don't decide what numbers and measurements to give the NHL to improve their ranking... Do you realize how absurd that is? I think I'll trust official measurnents over your expert naked eye.

I've seen a lot of NHL'ers in person. Domi I've met numerous times. He's 5'8" max not 5'10" as he was always listed. Gilmour as well. Jeff Beukeboom is huge. Mario is 6'6" -- have a picture with him. Keith Katchuk isn't tall -- 5'10" tops but has legs like tree trunks. I've met Clark, Cujo, Corson, etc. etc. They all have kids that play minor hockey. If you are involved in the game you'll see them.

Couple years ago Paul Coffey was coaching against Tkachuk and Dallas Drake was opening the door on the bench.

Believe what you want to believe. I've seen Kadri and he has a slight build like a teen-ager. He may have bulked up in the last year or so since I saw him but at the time he was listed at 185 and he wasn't.

Gilmour I would give 165 when he was playing. Small guy. But he was listed bigger.

That said if the kids around here are going to pop off with rude remarks -- they'll get it right back.
