Great thought. Truthfully. For life.

That takeaway for today can now justify me spending much more time on these Boards today than I actually have.

It doesn't stop some players. If Tedenby can get stronger, and gain some confidence in his offensive abilities, there's no reason he can't follow Gionta's example.

Money isn't an issue. Suter is just being a diva for a reason no one can figure out. We're a young, competitive team in a growing market that can compete for a Cup. Suter can play on the best D pairing in the league for his whole career. He can stay out of the big media spotlight. We have no idea why he wants out in the first place.
You guys seem to lose every good D you produce. It's like a D factory, but the corvettes just want to run free.

Someone I wouldn't mind, who's flying under the radar (most probably because of Parise) and could give us solid production for half of what Semin will demand is Andrei Kostitsyn.

If he's willing to take a 2 to 3 year deal worth 3.5M$/4M$ per, I wouldn't be all that upset. He managed to rack up 20 goals for the Habs on a constant basis with limited minutes on the PP and went from the 2nd line to the 3rd line every other game. He has a big frame and if given the chance in a top #6 role, he might surprise alot of people.

It would obviously be a last resort type of thing but still a good option if it would come to that.

Timonen we lost in the firesale of 07 (our owner wanted to cut the salary of our team, so Timonen, Hartnell, Vokoun, and Forsberg all had to go), and Hamhuis was just not a good fit here, since he wanted to be a top pairing D adn get paid like one, and we could offer him neither as our 3rd defenseman.

Weber and Suter have no excuses besides being divas.

But yeah, it certianly is getting old.

Don't disagree, but why bank the eight ball against genetics?

When I go to a casino I prefer to play blackjack, not the greeen 0/00 on the roulette wheel.

Nashville should be a cap ceiling team now that the city has transformed into a hockey market, my trip to Nashville was awesome last season. I saw Nashville absolutely destroy Chicago in January.

Literally 5,000 Hawks fans showed up to this game to instantly be drowned out by what is the loudest crowd I have heard outside of Montreal.

Compare it to when I went to Toronto, great city, full barn but incredibly quiet.

These types of alternatives still have me scratching my head why we let Poni go for $1.8m.

Devils money was tied up in waiting on Parise. The post you quoted is saying that we go after that said player if and when Parise leaves and we still have all that money left to reach the cap floor.

I guess......$1.8m of cap/salary is not going to be the breaking point of a go-no go decision on Parise.

It just seems given all the uncertainty - Parise, club financials - a short term, cheap ticket of a known entity is exactly what you want until everything is sorted out.

Hell the legal fees, relocation, and new gear costs for a replacement are a not insignificant amount of his salary, LOL.

Lol yea I would normally agree but it sounds like our team is on a very strict short leash budget wise this year (minus Parise). So 2 million in cap space is a big deal especially since this is a third line player we are talking about. Do you think that the team would normally have let Marty go to FA over a second year if not for these financial issues?

Fine. He'll be signed by us in the end. It's inevitable.

Oh and please continue to make believe I'm not here. Seems to be an art-form around these parts.
