The offers started to come in 2 days ago so no, they haven't had plenty of time to think about anything.

They didn't know the offers they'd receive from each team outside of their own, and what's the rush outside of certain members of the media and half of HF wanting to see some action?

God forbid they even take time to make a decision...and you call them clowns for that? Yup, keep name calling them like it's going to have any effect.

Suter had 2 months? Do you know how unrestricted free agency works or do you need to take a class in CBA/Sports Management?

They had a long time to get ready for this day and think about some stuff and some possibilities.

He could have just said: Place A or Place B if I get 500k more a season and then Place C +2 M > Place A etc... it's not that difficult.

While you're already being psychic, mind telling me what I'm having for dinner, when my girlfriend is going to be done boating, and who's going to win the presidential election?

I can't blame them for taking this much time to make a decision....it's one that will impact the rest of their careers and lives...kind of a big deal.

Sometimes I wrestle with a decision over what to get at Taco Bell.

The only people who are clowns are people that think these players need to decide on their watch.

So Suter got offers for 2 months? I guess some teams are in hot water

Don't act like they didn't know what type of offers were coming their way. They have agents, it is their agents job to inform their clients of what to expect and what will come their way. This isn't the first time in history a big name has hit free agency.

They have known for a while which teams would be suitors for them (every team?) and they know which ones they won't consider. Pick the team and contract you like best and sign. The future of a bunch of other players is on hold until you guys pick your destination.

They have known for weeks which teams would be making offers... it really should not take this long... they both knew what kind of money they'd be getting, but then again according to Parise money doesn't matter.... so just sign with New Jersey and get it over with.

It's completely different from a Sundin situation.

Well, our beat writer (Russo) is already getting threats on Twitter for some interview he did on Pittsburgh radio, so I think it is safe to say emotions are running ridiculously high here.

I cannot imagine the backlash Zach will see here in Minnesota if he chooses to sign elsewhere. There are some who still hate the guy for choosing North Dakota over Minnesota.

I think some people need to take a step back and exhale.

You guys who think they should have signed with whoever threw the most money at them in the first hour of free agency are unbelievable. I'm actually astonished there's so many of you.

I'll say it again, they didn't get offers till the first, then they likely had to go back and forth with some of the teams they preferred to see if changes in term, $$$, signing bonuses etc. could be made. They don't owe you or me or Rick Nash, Bobby Ryan, Matt Carle or the media a thing.

I have no words. Something about making a decision that will affect the rest of their lives maybe be making them take their time....it's not like they want to be 110% sure they are making the right decisions or anything

Exactly, wow people easily get panties in a knot. These guys have invested almost 10 years as Pro's and it is their time to decide the rest of their NHL future. If every team plays by the rules they have has 2 ish days to digest offers. Maybe Suter had his heart set to play in L.A but the offer L.A gave him was crap. you never know.

These guys have more then themselves to worry about. They have family commitments, etc. some team offers me a ton of money I look at everything involved. Taxes, Schools, housing, commutes, rosters, coaches, style, etc, etc etc.

How does this really affect any of us? Yes we all want them, yes we are anxious, but it's not something we should be getting mad at or talking down players because of. If a guy signed in the first couple hours I would lean more towards tampering then a player that has truly taken time to make a sound decision.

It amazes me that people on this board still think this garbage is fact.

How many contract discussions have you been a part of to establish this precedent?

The idiots complaining that Parise should have made this decision a year ago were probably saying "Parise doesn't care anymore, he's thinking about himself and what he'll do this offseason instead of the team" during the SCF...

Then I'll reiterate this for him again. This is the BIGGEST DECISION OF THEIR LIVES. God forbid they think about it longer than what they thought about getting for dinner last night.

BIGGEST DECISION OF THEIR LIVES
BIGGEST DECISION OF THEIR LIVES

Surely if you had to choose between a job offering in a few different cities throughout the country, you'd take more than an hour to decide.
