They certainly are:

@Real_ESPNLeBrun
Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

You can't tell me the others weren't offering same term n money... this was about being the leaders of a team... not being in the shadow of the likes of Crosby/Malkin ... Datz/Zetter ...

The Wild is officially their team and when the young talent starts contributing they'll be contenders.

This is excellent. No Parise to the Pens! Both guys out West! Of course, this just means the Pens will be hard after Semin and some of the Sabres RW trade targets (Ryan, etc). The competition for trades just heated up.

I liked the ideas earlier of trying to pry Filpula out of Detroit. That's a team in desperate need of defense...even if they do land Carle or trade for Yandle.

Except Suter and Parise were never coming here. So there's that. Small detail.

Brodzaik is a 6'2'' checking line center. He was forced into a scoring role with Koivu going down. However, with them signing Mitchell, Konopka, and them already have Cullen, Koivu, and Grandlund coming...and now over the cap pending the contracts. He's probably available.

Cool for the Wild, but let's get some other free agents signed now.

At least the Devils and Preds are worse off now.

Yep, primarily a product of being an expansion franchise and Lemaire being their coach for the first 8 of their 11 years of existance.

I would love to see them get back on the radar as an exciting and competitive team like the old North Stars were right before leaving. It was criminal IMO when they lost their team. All that young talent they had that evenutally formed the core of the Dallas Cup winning team in 99.

Look out in two years when Granlund, Coyle, Brodin, Dumba, Zucker, et al. are on the team.

My favorite part is that Philly missed out on these guys. And lost Jagr. And hopefully they'll lose Carle now, too.

But he doesn't really use his size nor is he very good at faceoffs.

I hate the people on Twitter. "How come the Wild got them and not the Sabres! Bet the Sabres didn't try! Jerks!"

Um, how about because Parise is a Minny kid and convinced Suter to sign in his hometown? Sabres couldn't trump that unless they went back in time and had Ted Black kidnap Zack's pregnant mother, move her, and have her pop him out at Buff General.

Bad part about this: Someone out East is going to actually pay Semin 6 or 7 million a year.

brodziak = good 2 way, 3rd line center

id love to get him

but minny is building a winner... and you need players like brodziak... so he's not available
