Lin can't sign elsewhere unless we don't match, right? NBA RFA is odd.
Either way, no problem with this. Would've loved to root for Nash as a Knick but whatever, glad we get to keep Shump.
Keep Lin (or, if i'm wrong and Houston CAN sign him, sign Dragic), grab Ramon Sessions or something, Jason Kidd maybe?, and laugh at TOR and their ploy to **** us.
This crap with Lin's price being driven up so high is pretty nuts as well. NBA needs to get its salaries back under control... Dragic is a nice player... but 9 mill a year? Ouch.
I hope they trade Douglas for a serviceable PG... sounds crazy I know, but...

Yeah, well, Douglas' value is so high right now after he hardly played last season.
As for Dragic, I don't see how 9 mill a year is "ouch." Dragic spent 3 years coming off the bench to spell Nash. That's about as good a tutor and role model as you can have as a point guard.
Last season, he started 28 games, his first real opportunity to start in the NBA, when Kyle Lowry got hurt. He outplayed Lowry and he was the best player on the Rockets once he was starting, IMO. As a starter, he was putting up 18 points, 8.5 assists, 3.5 boards, and almost 2 steals a game. All of his percentages went up. Those are really nice numbers. The more he played, the more comfortable and confident he looked, and the better he played. You could see some Nash in him, and he was really effective taking the ball to the hole.
He's also only now approaching his prime, he's fast, he's agile and athletic, and he has nice size at 6'4".
...I was sort of hoping if Houston went nuts on Lin, we could get him. Oh well. That's a shrewd, shrewd move to replace Steve, and with all the picks they got too?
This is a win-win trade for both teams. Rare you see it.

He'll be worth it. Dragic is going to be a good player.
Sting pointed out his stats as a starter. Suns are lucky to get him back.

99% sure that's correct. Knicks can choose to match any offer for Lin.
Raptors trade Forbes and a protected 1st for Lowry.
Great deal for TOR..Love Lowry, but this concerns me because now HOU has lost both their PGs and could open the door for them to offer some ridiculous deal to Lin.
Was just a thought. I am very concerned about rockets. They let their top 2 PGs go, why would they have done that?
I would not be suprised if Lin was in a rocket uniform next year.
The Knicks have a chance to match anything and I'm sure they absolutely will match all offers. They got rid of Lawry because he didn't want to be there but I don't know why they let Dragic go.
The lockout achieved nothing. Landry Fields gets 20 million bucks over 3 years, teams are selling their PG's to give a guy who had 14 PPG and 6 assists in 35 games 30 million dollar contracts....
Yeah. I'll always remember him as the guy on the Nets who dominated us. Hell, I even forget that he played in the league before his Nets tenure sometimes.
Also, i'm alright with the signing. He's 39 and probably won't contribute much on the court, but he's better than Mike Bibby and should help Lin.
