Dominos falling?

With Suter and Parise signed in Minny could this be the start to improving the leafs roster? Burke said he was on the phone with a gm yesterday before his interview with Bob McCown. Could this mean that with teams trying for both of them be looking for an upgrade in the positions or minny looking at losing salary.

Could something around Heatly, Minnys 1st and Backstrom for Komi Scrivens and MacArthur maybe be done?

We're going to get a legit goal scorer, a legit number 1 goalie and a 1st round pick for Komisarek, Scrivens and Macarthur?

I wouldn't touch Heatley with a 10' hockey stick. Ask anyone in Ottawa what he does to a locker room.

as for dominos falling, there isn't a team yet that has to make a move because of salary cap. Internal budgets change if cases are made to ownership, but as for any team that has to make a move... there isn't one.

Burke fails again.

I don't think (and glad)that Burke would take Heatley for free.

Apparently he was awesome in Minni's dressing room, and a great teammate.

Players mature..... All heresay though.

As for Dominos falling? I mean this signing happened minutes ago.... and you already have a proposal? lol

Heatly is now a 7.5 million 20 goal scorer, i wouldnt call that legit. Minny now has Heatly,Suter,Parise at 7 mill, Koivu Backstrom at 6. Thats alot of cap on 5 players

As Burke said, teams that have spent money now need to move players so there is room to improve the Leafs via trade. Who they will get is another story altogether.

I think the most significant thing to come out of these signings is that teams who were in on Parise will turn their attention to Nash and, unless Howson continues to demand a ridiculous price, he will be the next player to be moved.

I also think that other teams in Minny's division and conference might be looking to upgrade in order to keep up with them so that might start other dominoes falling as well.

With what was said the other day (was it Poile?) about big names being in play there is likely to be a lot more movement over the next month or so. How active the Leafs will be is unknown though.

Semin should be the next domino to fall to the losers of the Parise derby.

Every time there is a trade people refer to the 'dominoes'.

It's getting annoying.

Minny is still almost 3M under the cap ... They could really use a puck moving offensive D-man ...

Yup. I wonder if Phy now trades the farm for Weber and Poile decides to start over again? Cue the rumors for that one.

This is Weber's last chance to sign a retirement contract given that the next CBA will probably put an end to them. Can Nashville afford it and does he want to stay?

I can't see him wanting to stay now. If he forces a trade to Phy they can sign him to an extension this summer before the CBA that will come in to effect next year like Crosby. That team is in a lot of flux, Poile would be an idiot to sit on him now.

Signing a long-term deal in Philly is a kiss of death...

Weber is Burke's favorite player in the league. He would take Jake Gardiner (and others) to Nashville on a bike if it meant getting Weber. If he becomes even the slightest bit available, BB will consider it.

Alot of people on hear like to play by name. Heatlys value right now is at or just around Komisarek due to his inflated salary and his lack of foot speed to continue at his scoring pace. he is 20-25 goal scorer next season, book it.
