I would rather not give up one of the toughest players in the league, who gives us 20 plus hard minutes a night. Especially not for one of the most injury prone players in the league. I'd like Boychuk to stay a Bruin for years to come. I hope this doesn't go down.

I haven't read all the posts in here so forgive me if this has already been stated. I agree that this deal would leave our D too thin for my liking but......Might this be connected to a separate deal for JayBo?

My bad; didn't realize that thread was taken down at one point.

You can go back to being a cut-up again...

No matter what, Soderberg would've scored there

Anythings possible but that would be ambitious cap management even for me, and im the most optimistic person here regarding the bruins cap sitch (although if chias throwing offers at parise, it seems he's optimistic too)

Any stats to backup players enforcing their NTCs who don't eventually waive their NTC? Team A wants player to waive his NTC. Player says no. Player's unhappiness with management begins. Management's unhappiness with player begins. Player eventually waives NTC. There are strategies.

Example: (2005) McCabe has for the past year been the itch the Maple Leafs could not scratch, refusing to wave his no-trade clause. But it now seems the Leafs have a clever solution.

Management in Toronto say that McCabe will not be bought out of his contract, which has three years remaining at $5.75 million per season. But he also will not return to the NHL in Leafs' blue and white.

It's said that the pricey McCabe has played his final game as a Leaf. While the Maple Leafs' will not buy him out of the final three years of his contract, they won't be inviting him back to the team, either. This move is made in an effort to force McCabe to waive his no-trade clause.

Fletcher is looking to drop the bomb on McCabe by boarding up the doors and saying "Get out of town."

Still, he won't do anything without some return for McCabe, so now all that can be done by the blueliner is waive the no-trade or take a nice break.

Most GMs are willing to gamble on NTCs because they know that in this tight economy, they could always send a high-salaried player to the minors without fear of getting picked off waivers because his cap hit was too high. We’ve already seen that several times this season (2010).

General managers also realize that most players, when faced with a team that no longer wants them, usually waive the NTC or NMC to get on with their lives.

I hope the Bruins keep Boychuk and McQuaid.
