Probably. But one can hope.

Doan wants to play for the Coyotes, But he's also such a competitor that I have a hard time seeing him turn emo if it doesn't work out. Especially if the team, community, and staff can rally around him (which I think will happen) He's not the kind of guy to want to disappoint his fanbase, no matter what color sweater he's wearing.

On a side note, I'm still a bit intrigued that Winnik isn't signed yet. (though I had a dream he signed with the Kings and woke up pretty pissed off) He must be asking for the moon.
Sorry but I actually missed that, when did the Sharks say they were making an announcement tomorrow? Can you send me this link please? I know that Shane Doan is waiting to see what happens with Jamison and the ownership of the Yotes right? But basically from what I read in the article that LS posted, Doan will likely re-sign with them if Jamison purchases them to keep them there, and if there's still a chance for them to get moved then he might go somewhere else correct? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like to have Doan here. I think $6.6 is too much for a guy whose career high is 78 points, and he's 35 and ain't getting any younger and he's barely putting up 60 points. I think $5-5.5 is the limit to give him, otherwise walk.

I do have the sense that something is in the wind for Monday, but it seems more like something that doesn’t involve any outside parties. Maybe a new assistant coach? Maybe a contract extension for someone on the roster? I’d only be guessing beyond that.

B-b-but Shane Doan is better than Patrick Marleau! Intangiblezz!!!

Not too bad, 3rd line is Defensively responsible and has some scoring with Pavs. There's a bit of cap space left over just in case.

Could still throw another 500K at Doan if necessary. No way this could work w/o the buyout.
Well the buyout period has passed, and Galliardi resigned, so theres no arbitration buy out period.

Looks like a trade is the only solution to this.

With the Sharks bringing in Larry Robinson I wonder if his presence will influence future signings. Who are Larry Robinson type players DW might want to bring in? Former Devils maybe, Langenbrunner or Sykora, Doan also seems to fit.

Haha I've been saying this for awhile, bring back Sturm and it'd be like we got Jumbo for Wayne Primeau.

kdb has already confirmed that there will be a buyout period after the paper work for the re-signing is filed with the league office since they're closed on the weekends, I guess.

getting Doan would be the best thing that could happen for this team. We can only hope.

If they could get a significant 3rd line upgrade plus Doan they would be dominant
the old Clutterbuck for Demers trade is sure looking appealing about now,and Wild could seriously use a PMD.

I'd love to get Stalberg as well, I'm sure the Hawks would be interested in Wingels. Something like Handzus and Wingels for Stalberg plus mid pick/prospect would look pretty good if DW could get him signed to a nice contract and Zues goes for the cap dump.

No not really. If Doan were acquired for 3.5 million or less I'd rather seen Doan on the third line rather than pavs any day of the week.

My point is merely that Doan will get paid handsomely in free agency with so many teams after him. Maybe 6.6m is higher than he is worth, I get that. But it's a demand and supply league and he should be well demanded

Money shouldn't be the issue but it will play a part with so many suitors.

Doan isn't worth a dollar over 3.5. Even that is pushing it.

I know he'll get more, but he isn't worth it.

The argument that Pavs is top six or elsewhere applies to Shane Doan as well.

If we could sign Doan for 3 years at $3M per, that's be great. Even as he declines, he'd still be a great third liner.

Not sure if Chicago goes for that. Most Hawks fans said they would trade Murray for Stalberg straight up, I'd do that easily. Either sign a bottom pairing D-man or let the prospects compete for the spot at training camp.
