Honestly, Sykora can probably provide as much offense as Doan and he'd be cheaper too. They're both barely 20 goal scorers at this stage in their careers. DW traded for a Czech, drafted a Czech, now let's sign one!

Dallas' Morrow may be on the move and Sharks could be interested.

Blues are looking for a top-4 D man.

Sounds like he is most likely going to the Blues as per that article? Are you just excited that he is out of the division?

Well, no. I am excited by the first article linking interest by SJ to one of my favorite players.

Morrow + Doan

This off-season we will only sign/trade for other team's captains.

Someone give Burish a bottle of Cap'n Morgan.

Any chance we re-sign Winchester?

Do you think DW is not interested or just waiting till he can fill the top-6 needs before completing the bottom-6?

Agreed. I'm staying up past my bedtime for the chance that someone will do something. I hate going to bed after 11am, but I'll probably do it again. Damn DW for toying with my sleep!

I think he's waiting to see what happens with top 9 needs before he gets to Winchester. I'd say probably not as our 4th line is done and solid right now.

Here's what it would probably look like IF we signed doan and traded for morrow.
Trade Murray + a 2nd or something for morrow
Sign Doan
Destroy Handzus

FORWARDS
Patrick Marleau ($6.900m) / Joe Thornton ($7.000m) / Shane Doan ($4.500m)
Ryane Clowe ($3.625m) / Logan Couture ($2.875m) / Martin Havlat ($5.000m)
Brenden Morrow ($4.100m) / Joe Pavelski ($4.000m) / Tommy Wingels ($0.775m)
T.J. Galiardi ($0.950m) / Andrew Desjardins ($0.640m) / Adam Burish ($1.850m)
James Sheppard ($0.761m) /

DEFENSEMEN
Marc-Edouard Vlasic ($3.100m) / Brent Burns ($5.760m)
Brad Stuart ($3.600m) / Dan Boyle ($6.667m)
Justin Braun ($1.250m) / Jason Demers ($1.250m)
Matt Pelech ($0.578m) /

GOALTENDERS
Antti Niemi ($3.800m)
Thomas Greiss ($0.588m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $69,567,917; BONUSES: $0
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $632,083

Its an expensive 3rd line but that is tons of depth and "character"

Should we begin the plan the parade? Thats the best lineup ive seen yet.

Although Murray+2nd likely doesnt get Morrow

Don't want Morrow at all. His back is trashed, and that is not the kind of thing at his age that just 'gets better'.

We already have Havlat, we cannot risk having another injury prone top-6 player.

This.

We can either start trying to plug in speedy wingers into our top-6 to put us in the right direction for the re-build/mini re-build after the 2013-14 season. Or we can try to sign players similar to Doan/Morrow which will give us good grit/depth/toughness/leadership but most likely not go far in the playoffs.

I would rather do the former than latter.

I like a lot of those guys, and it sure seems like our third line would be able to put up points, but boy does it look as slow as this years team. Didn't we want to get faster?

Well the Sharks can start by not being the worst passing team in the league....that will make them faster.

I don't start crazy rumors but...

My cousin just spotted Rick Nash in town.

(before anyone asks for pics, I would post if I had them, so believe what you will)
