AK is also super one dimensional so I'm not saying he's a good option, just an option.
Yeah and part of what made Seto so expendable was they had 6 other quality top six. I don't think they are in any hurry to go back to 7.

Ak can be used in a top six role. This doesn't mean he would be the best top six in the league. He would make sense if the Sharks traded Havlat or maybe Pavs depending on what pavs was traded for. Of course the Sharks would sign AK first.

I'm not sold on the Kings next year yet. They have the talent but they will have a couple things against them. One, the Cup hangover almost always hits you in the first couple months of the new season. Two, Darryl Sutter with a full off-season, training camp, and season will put more of his finger prints on the team and that's not necessarily a good thing.

At this point, I see them winning the division but that's only because everyone else has taken a step back.

Steve Sullivan just signed with PHO, so cross him off the list.

Does anyone else think Wilson might be biding his time to see who will be available/cap dumped following the Parise and Suter signings?

He's probably waiting on the Nash thing to resolve itself but it might be too late if he doesn't get the trade he wants with that. I don't see the Sharks being involved with any of the dominoes that may fall with the marquee free agents and the aftermath of that.

Its qute possible. DW always seems to be very methodical with his transactions for the most part. Somebody mentioned here that DW never really grabs big name UFA's either, which seems pretty accurate. IMO he will be making a trade. When will it happen??? It may not happen till the season is in play.

Parise may land in a team that's going for Nash, but at least one will still want him. His value goes up.

Scoring was very lopsided for us last year and with havlat healthy it will help a lot, but IMO he hasn't done enough for the bottom six. We need at least one 20 goal scorer Down there

From what I can tell, there are three teams interested in Rick Nash. The Sharks, Rangers, and Flyers. I don't think that there is anything that any of them can do that will drive the value up to the others. Neither team is going to get Parise. I don't really believe that either team has a driving need for Nash. I see the other two addressing their forward needs elsewhere eventually and that will make Nash's value plummet once there is only one suitor willing to do the deal.

so basically like the heatley deal, wait to long and your looking at going into the season with a distraction and a unmotivated player.

and also waiting until the season starts means that the price will go way down because no team is going to sell the farm just for 1 player that can mess up there own team.

I still think JJ is horribly overrated. He had a good half to end the season but historically he's been a black hole for his partners. To trade Voracek and the 8th (let's pretend that 8th wasn't even Couturier, which made it worse) and end up with JJ and a late 1st rounder isn't a great sequence of moves.

RT @StarTribune: The #MnWild agrees to terms with Suter, still working on Parise.
Looks like Suter is going to the Wild boys and girls.

Red Wings have been notified they're out of Parise hunt.
Guessing that means its going to be the Devils or Wild as the Pens were already notified that they are out earlier. I am leaning towards Wild right now.

Dam, Sullivan would have been great and cheap, i'd have given him a 2 year deal
at 1.85 per. Really pisses me off DW won't sign a UFA like this.

I'd like to think you are correct on the cap dump play, problem is most of the teams in the running for Parise / Suter are already cleared cap room, i don't think their will be any available players that anyone would want. If they are UFAs they are going now (e.g. Sullivan)

#Redwings told they are out of Parise as well. Start connecting the dots here. Looks like the package deal that was speculated months ago

The First Two Dominos Have Dropped...

Per Twitter reports, Suter is a member of the Wild. And the Pens and Wings have been told they're OUT of the running for Parise. Looks like both will be in Minnesota.

Brace yourselves because here comes the whirlwind of activity...

Huge win for the Wild if they get both players, instant playoff team and contender.
