Maybe I'm missing something? I will admit I don't know a lot about Pyatt...but this just seems real mediocre at best...

You have to believe this is Marian Gaborik's replacement

This is a steal of a contract.

Former 23 goal scorer and he's hit 37 points twice. He had a down year last year but it's still not a bad fit.

Gross. I hate Pyatt. He adds nothing to this team and will be the new whipping boy.

Granted, we needed a new whipping boy.

He's a year removed from 18 goals 30+ points.

That's the kind of depth you want in the bottom six. Last year was the first he didn't score at least double digit goals since 05-06.

What are you expecting from a bottom six player?

Pyatt has good size, will take the body, go to the net, chip in, average skater.

Bottom 6 is starting to look more legit now. This is a good depth signing. I hate how some people freak out around here when the Rangers don't sign a "name."

I can just picture it.

Taylor Pyatt out there with Rupp, Asham and Bickel in the last few minutes when the team desperately needs a goal.

Season... Team.... GP...G...A...P...+/-
2009-2010 Coyotes 74 12 11 23 13
2010-2011 Coyotes 76 18 13 31 11
2011-2012 Coyotes 73 9 10 19 -4

?

For the money he's getting just his career average numbers would be pretty fine. Looks like there will be a lot of competition in camp.

From a Sabres fan who also roots for the Rangers, congrats on inking the most beautiful pair of eyes in the game.

He should be a good fit for the bottom of your line-up, a big body who can chip in a bit without favorable ice time.

Mueller, Mitchell. Hell I would rather have Wellman on the team.

What are you expecting from a bottom six player?
37 goals and 3 assists. That's why I love Dubinsky so much.

Here's what I don't understand about people. Alot of people on this board don't get the game, yes we have scoring issues if you look at it numbers wise, but with the system we play that's why we score less goals. If you notice, we very rarely have odd man rushes and transition offense opportunities because of how deep we collapse. We don't have scoring issues, we have capable scorers as it is but our system doesn't allow them to showcase their offensive abilities. If we continue playing this system the only way to improve our offense is to improve our PP because that's when we'd obviously have our best opporunities to score and wouldn't be collapsing.

Great size. Excellent wheels. Never developed into a scorer like a lot of people hoped but we could really have used him in the playoffs last year.

Could've done much worse than Pyatt at $1.5m per for two years. Still want Mueller, but we still need bodies.

I know you're being sarcastic, but we can actually roll four lines with guys like Pyatt. See Gionta-Carter-Bernier on the Devils. They wrecked us in the playoffs.

Pyatt is replacing what Prust is supposed to bring with less fighting, more size, and similar PK and a little more skill. Bigger body. That's needed in the playoffs. He'll be someone that the fans love after a couple games.

We don't have scoring issues? Well then, we're all set.
