SSM must be shouting for joy right now.

I'm fine with this. Dynamism on our 4th line is important too. Too much of the same stuff on there.

?

For the money he's getting just his career average numbers would be pretty fine. Looks like there will be a lot of competition in camp.
He's in the Feds range and Feds numbers were meh. For 1.55 mill I don't really care but there's no sugar coating that we had a guy like him already.

What is your fascination with John Mitchell? Are you his brother?

Maybe it's now time to start adressing this team's REAL problems?

Adapted from The Hangover II:

Jonathan.: I admit it. When I first met Pyatt I was not quite sold. He seemed unattractive. He lacked intelligence and imagination. He was missing the spark you look for in a man. But then I look into Pyatt's eyes, he reminded me of my sweet brother, Chio. For those who do not know, Chio is learning disabled and lives in group home.

But Chio loves khao and that's when I realized, Pyatt is khao.

Pyatt: What's khao?

Jonathan.: Khao is soft white rice in lukewarm water. It has no taste. Befitted to small babies and very old people. It is nourishment that everyone can digest. The world needs khao, just as the world needs people like Jonathan..

To my sweet Rangers fans and Pyatt. Congratulations.

Pyatt didn't play a single second of PK time last year.

I don't think this signing means we are "out" on Fedotenko. We have gone into camp with 15 established NHL forwards on the roster before. Guys get cut. Guys get scratched. We still don't have a full starting dozen yet.

Doesnt make sense unless guys are being moved out. At this point in his career, he's pretty much the same player as Haley, just more experienced. His offense, skating, physical play is not what it was when he left Buffalo or even when he left Vancouver. Maybe this change motivates him, but I have a hard time saying this is a good deal.

Pyatt is a handsome dude, makes up for the Asham signing the other day. Rangers fans can rejoice, our team is once again the best-looking in the league.

No, he really doesn't.

Pyatt is actually a decent skater for a big guy, and is faster than almost anyone currently in our bottom 6.

We definitely needed depth there. Our bottom 6 did nothing in the playoffs for us. Look at the Kings and Devils. Both teams had bottom 6 forwards that contributed. The difference between us possibly winning the cup and or not. I know we needed more scoring from our top-6 as well, but if our bottom-6 can produce here there offensively (which it didn't) it takes pressure off of your top-6.

Looking at advanced stats, he isn't that bad.

Edit:

His Corsi is downright brutal.

Nice!

Means the end of Feds as well, liked feds but hes washed up. We replaced him with a guy who will put up similar numbers but is more physcial and plays with a ton of heart.

By the way, let's not all be fooled here. Taylor Pyatt is not a 3rd liner. He's been playing 12-14 minutes the last few seasons. This is literally our John Mitchell replacement. The guy won't look out of place playing a short stretch of games on the 3rd line. His job is to go out there, play with the puck in the offensive zone, not be a defensive liability and get off the ice.

Even producing at Fedotenko levels, the key here is that Pyatt is a much bigger boy, and inherently so has much more potential for a surprise season. Wouldn't bet on it since he's 30 and that probably would have happened by now, but it could still happen with good coaching. I have to say for the money I really like this signing. The Rangers are getting huge. I love it.

Hahaha. This killed me.

He adds skill and size to the third line. Pyatt has solid experience, too.

His skills obviously. Mitchell is the best at not being able to finish, no one in the league is better. How many forwards have that type of skill? To blow gimme opportunities time after time, only a fool would not want a guy like that on his/her favorite team.

I like him as a bottom six guy, at least more than I like Feds.

This isnt a move causes excitement or disappointment. It's a depth signing, no more, no less.
