Agreed.

Honestly, I'm secretly hoping that the earlier poster was correct and it'll wind up being something like Dubi, Thomas, MSC and a pick, making this a moot point. But, if forced to choose, I think I deal Hags.

Hes a nice player, hes fast, he played at a higher level than anyone thought during the regular season and was an absolute dud in the playoffs. The real Carl Hagelin likely lies in between the regular season and playoff version.

Sure, he probably has more value than Miller right now thanks for a good regular season - thats exactly why we should be exploiting that value and selling high.

Acquiring Nash with Dubinsky and Hagelin being the two roster players (who, in my opinion, will both wind up being closer to 3rd liners than top 6 players) is a wonderful situation for the Rangers.
Yup, it's called maximizing the value of your assets. Hagelin was great story last year, but, like you, Edge and few others here, he's a player I believe is very replaceable within the organization, especially when you have the opportunity to get a top six scorer. Turning a 6th round draft choice into a valuable trade chip that nets you a player such as Nash, IMO, that speaks volumes about what this organization is doing in terms of prospect development.

Best case scenerio, folks.

Devils lose their best player and captain.

Pens lose out on a top 3 player to ride shotgun to Crosby.

We are sitting in very good shape going forward.

Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild
Parise to the Wild. Staal traded to Carolina. Jagr to Dallas.

Still more to come certainly, but so far: Penguins got worse; Devils got worse; Flyers got worse.

So nice to be able to root for Parise. I always begrudgingly liked him. Now I can genuinely like him.

Since the Rangers were out of the picture, I like the fact that Suter and Parise are not going to an established contender. The NHL's getting shaken up. The Oilers will be set to trade for Weber. Still will need a goalie but things are changing.

So much for all the gnashing of teeth because the Rangers only signed Asham and Haley on day 1 of free agency. Oh noes, the Rangers won't make the playoffs...Pittsburgh will be the Heat of the NHL!!!

I'm so happy I can now buy a Parise jersey without it having that ugly Devil logo on it.

Best part is the Devils still have to give up their 1st rounder in the next two years.

Someone on the main boards mapped it out and for where Suter resides, Chicago and Detroit are closer than St. Paul. I could be completely wrong though soooooo.
