None of the all star games interest me. They made sense a quarter of a century ago... not so much anymore.

The fact that the MLB ASG dictates the World Series home field is an abomination.

The ASG is an exhibition. It's not SUPPOSED to be important.

Vanilla wafers aren't bad for a lunch. There WERE vanilla wafers in the vanilla wafers box when you got to work, right?

You know you're tired when you put the milk in the breakfast cereal cupboard, instead of returning it to the fridge (true B_G story).

You know you're tired when you pack your lunch in a plastic grocery bag, and head out the house on trash day, throw the last small bag of wastebasket trash (also in a plastic grocery bag) in the curb can for the sanitation pickup, and then arrive at work realizing you threw out your lunch and brought the wastebasket trash instead (true B_G story).

Vanilla wafers are awesome for breakfast, lunch, or bedtime snack.

Speaking of phone mania, my favorite apps on my iSpend iPhone4:

1) breathalyzer
2) taser
3) mind controller

==========
All-Star Games:
I would not be opposed to the NHL returning to a format where the ASG is played as the first contest of the year with all-stars vs. the defending Cup champion. Other major sports could follow suit. Though, in all cases, I believe the respective CBAs would make it more difficult to do than the current formats.

+9001

The superskills and those home run derby events, and slam dunk contests interest me more.

I'm guessing what he means is that back then it was harder to watch all the good players on TV so it was a unique opportunity for fans in one city to see all the stars. Or even in the 70's when most people only got the broadcast networks on TV it was probably the only chance to see a lot of those players even on TV for most people.

Clock is right, but you end up victorious. It doesn't matter which of you thinks what in terms of the spelling.

Speaking of our addiction to cheap electronics, does anyone feel guilt like I do when I purchase a new phone or ipad knowing the condition of the Chinese labor force that creates these electronics?

Wiki says Okey Dokey

Quote:
Tried searching UK only & then searching Web. Okie-dokie is negligible in UK: 910 against 25300 for okey-dokey. On Web as a whole, well, you'll have done that already, ie spelling 359000, ey spelling 985000.

Is not buying them going to improve their conditions? All that would happen then is that they would lose their crappy jobs and they'd have to go get another crappy job.

Growing pains in the big picture of the global economy. Eventually it'll all level out, and then we're going to see some serious ****.

I think it's a matter of perspective.

There's a reason that Foxconn has lines of workers every day outside their factories trying to get hired. Even though the conditions there suck compared to what we're used to in the US, they're still miles ahead of the rest of China.

In a backwards way, buying cheap electronics helps these folks more than it hurts them.

No guilt. I love decimating our national labor force to be able to purchase my disposable plastic trinkets at Walmart for a couple bucks less.
