IMO might as well take advantage of Leblanc's waiver ineligibility and start him in Hamilton. I don't think he has proven to be that much of a better option than any of the veterans, including Gomez. Maybe he forces his way up the depth chart during the season (also a possibility for Gallagher), but by that time we'll have injuries.
I think Gomez is a clearly better option than Nokelainen. So that puts him in the top 12. It's also possible that Armstrong doesn't bounce back, I see him as a low risk gamble more than a sure thing.
I see Gomez's situation as a cap decision. Under the last CBA, or under the owner's first proposal, I send him down to Hamilton. But we don't know what the new CBA will bring. If it ends up closer to a pure hockey decision, I think he makes the team.
-gives Leblanc a serious opportunity
-Gomez played like a third liner last year and would be more useless as a fourth liner
-Was unhappy Eller playing the fourth but if Armstrong can rebound with Prust causing trouble Eller's skill could be used to advantage.
-can't see Moen on the fourth line
Don't think it's a good idea to give a bettter role to Gomez than Eller and a third line of Eller Bourque and Gomez can produce many goals
I think Prust is a lock with Eller. The two has energy and will be rely on to shut down other teams. Add Moen and you have a rock solid energy line. I'm looking forward to seeing them. Eller is very similar to Brendan Dubinsky whom Prust played with.
