And now Kovy will be the captain. Not sure how I feel about that. He's a good player and a good guy in the room, but he is not the embodiment of the team's ideals that a captain should be.
He deserves the chance. If anyone has bought completely into our system, it is Kovy. Sure, it took a lot of money to get him here, but he had no attachment or loyalty to the Devils swaying him before that. Remember, Scott Stevens needed come coaxing at first too, and he turned out fine. Kovy leads by example like Stevens, that among other things is huge.

Agreed, Zajac needs to be extended this offseason. Before the puck drops for the first time next season, whenever that may be.

Not so sure about that anymore, it may have been the other way around (Parise swaying Suter). Either way, small consolation is we have another nugget to use against Pens and Philly trolls.

Thankfully I love that city and those fans.
The Preds have been my second team since Atlanta moved. Great fanbase, building up a hockey tradition in a southern market, and best of all, they do the "hey, you suck!" chant like we do. Bros indeed.

Another small consolation, it's panic time in Detroit. But yes, completely baffled why they both went to Minny, may that suffer mediocrity there for the rest of their careers.
