Gionta predictions

Has anyone heard anything at all about Gionta? I know it was a very long rehab injury which he incurred.

A lot of people seem to be totally downplaying him when they talk about where the goals are going to come from next season.

What are your expectations for him?

I'm gonna say 24 goals, 27 assists (goes a little assist happy for the first time in a Habs uniform)

He's one of our only remaining 'finesse' players, so we will lean heavily on him. Hopefully he pots 25+

If he doesn't get injured. I suspect we're gonna see another 50pt season from Gio. 25-25 or some variation.

If we can add another winger to play with him and Plekanec he has a shot at 30 goals, he had was close to 30 goals his first two seasons here despite being stuck with Gomez..

Well, he got 48 goals and Gomez had 33 (!) and 84 points in 05-06.

My call: a nice comeback season. 32 G, 22 A.

I don't think Gionta is very 'finesse'.

When in doubt, his go to move is the slap shot. Oh and he loves to tip too.

yup....that is all that matters. If Gionta plays 75-82 games, decent numbers will follow.

I could see him potting 30 goals....IF he plays those 75+ games.

29 goals, 17 assists. 62 GP.

Historically consistent, numbers-wise.

20 goals, 24 assists. I have lost a bit of faith in his scoring abilities the past few seasons.

If he and Plekanec get a very solid linemate, I could see Gionta putting up 32 goals and 28 assists. If it's just the two of them, closer to 25 goals and 25 assists.

28 goals in back to back years before his injury-shortened season last year.
