There is nothing for the Hawks to consider about that deal. Wow.
I have a hard time seeing him go east, but it's more feasible if a team there does in fact throw four or more years at him. There are family considerations in the Doan camp and word is he doesn't want to uproot his family to go somewhere just for a couple of years. There's a reason he's waiting the Phoenix situation out so much; he doesn't ultimately want to leave.
Money and years have a funny persuasion factor, especially in combination with a great chance to win, but my money still says he doesn't end up anywhere out east. Been wrong before, though.
3)why would you sign a 36 yr old(read:contract will count on our cap) player to a 4 year big dollar deal when you have guys that should be ready in 1-2 years
4)I don't personally think he has more than one 50pt season left in him.
No way any team is going to pay him that.... $20M for 4 years would still be too much, imo.
But if there was some truth to it, I doubt Doan would continue to be humming and hawing about his future. Loyalty is very noble, but to be overpaid by such a huge sum, and in the twilight of your career, is too irresistable for anyone.
