A poor man's Ray Whitney, 48 points in 79 games last year with Pittsburgh. About to turn 37 years old.

If Sullivan can stay healthy and maintain his production from last year, I'll be more than happy with this signing. At the very least, he keeps our PP at mediocre instead of league doormat.

If you count the post season, he had 28pts in his last 28gp.
Whitney sort of fell flat around that same time, iirc.

Langkow replacement? Not so much a Whitney replacement. They have got to replace those Whitney numbers.

Finally a nice signing. Sullivan has a big chance doing better than Whitney here in AZ, at least on the PP that is.

He is a Whitney replacement. They play the same game. Whitney is more effective, Sullivan is younger.

If Sullivan can put up some points and Boedker can keep playing the way he did in the playoffs then covering Wizards points seems pretty doable to me.

i remember wanting this guy a long time ago. Not so much anymore. He'll do for now I guess. Better than Huselius I guess.

Are we expecting him to play with hanzal and Vrbata?
Boedker-Vermette-Doan
Sullivan-Hanzal-Vrbata
Torres-Moss-Korpi
Chip-Gordon-Tikhonov
?
Honestly I have no idea who gets that last spot on the fourth line.
Glad to see we are signing someone who can put up some points

Tiki I don't think will ever play in the NHL again. If somehow GMDM gets either Seti or Heatley from Minny then Korpi goes on the 4th line.

Is Minny letting go of any of their talent with their recent additions? I have a hard time thinking that they do.

Maloney said Moss was versatile enough to fill in at center if need be. Translation: We dont see him as a solution to our need at center.
I'd say if we are lucky enough to get Doan, it's more like...
Sullivan-Hanzal-Vrbata
Doan-Vermette-Boedker
Korpikoski-??????-(Brule?)
Torres(Chip?)-Gordon-Moss
Bissonnette(Chip?)
Me? I'd like to move Bissonnette and Schlemko to Toronto for Lombardi or Connolly and Mike Brown. It'd be doing Toronto a favor in giving them the space they need for Luongo and we can fill a couple of holes on our roster.

Well right now there is talk happening right now on where Minnesota will be cap wise once the contract detaols have been offically released and chances are they are just under or over the cap. If that is the case, Minnesota is going to need to do something in case they need to make any moves come trade deadline day and in the future to keep much of their team in tact as possible.

Sullivan is about as good a realistic replacement as they could have gotten. Im delighted with this, particularly since RT highlighted his PP capabilities and strong finish to the season.

One year $1.85m
Very good value for a top six forward who will hopefully improve our PP.

Thank goodness for this...pickings were getting a little slim and hopefully Sullivan can put up 50pts, that's all we need from him
If we can get a slight upgrade for Langkow, I'd be happy going into the season
The "D" is going to be much improved with the addition of Z and the subtraction of Rozy & Aucoin.

I guess im the only one who doesn't like this signing. I don't necessarily hate this singing but if he's the guy were gonna rely on to replace whitney's scoring then were in trouble. I think he can help us as a powerplay specialist but im not expecting anything special 5 on 5. He's one of the smallest players in the league that used to use his speed to create offensive chances. Problem is after his back issues started he lost about 2 steps. Ohwell. I was just hoping for someone younger and a little more reliable.

Will Stone meekly give up his #26 to Sullivan or will the two wrestle for it?

...not a great signing, but a solid signing and very good 1 year contract. The Coyotes are looking better than they did this time last year (as long as they can get Doan back)

Yeah, this should have been expected and kind of a no brainer. Solid DM move. Nothing to write home about especially, still have lot of work to do. I woulda thought Sullivan could get more than 1.85 somewhere though. Feels like this guy has been around forever, I remember going to Yotes vs Hawks games at the AWA when he was still with Chicago.
