Not a bad signing at all. He is injury prone tho.

Spector had him resigning w the Flickers - hopefully Bob is the right one.

Edit: Spector has now corrected his story/tweet.

Can play center and wing. I'm fine with this as a Pyatt replacement but not so much as an addition to Pyatt. He's a decent player when healthy, but we don't need two enormous, streaky plush teddy bears.

I like it as long as the contract is good.

So far Vermette is our #1 center and Moss would be at #3.

Oh it will be tiny. Dude has had a rough three years after a very promising, very late start to his NHL career. I saw him at Michigan and never predicted he'd be an NHL player, let alone a twenty goal scorer.

I like Moss just fine. His addition makes Pyatt redundant. I hope we don't end up dumping Brule and keeping Pyatt.

Yeesh. I kinda hope not. I'd like to see us do better. Moss is also a wing and a RHS, which we needed anyway. Hopefully he's seen by Maloney as a bottom line wing and not a top three center.

Personally I'd rather have kept Pyatt if Moss is indeed a replacement for him. I'm sure the contract is miniscule considering all the injuries this guy has had.

Any replacement to Pyatt is an upgrade. Frustrating regular season player. He did play well in the playoffs though. I can give him that.

Guessing this is a Pyatt replacement and just GMDM's desire to get more size. Don't think he's a real physical guy. 12 PIM last year, 18 the year before. Sounds like another oversized Lady Byng candidate.

Moss is not very good in the circle. I really doubt we're signing him to be a 3rd line center. I agree he looks like a RW version of Pyatt.

I thought Sarah McLellan said that Pyatt is still waiting on Doan and Whitney, before he finds out about his fate with the Coyotes.

He is not physically aggressive in the traditional sense but he is strong, fairly assertive, and gritty in that he's willing to pay the price. Basically, he's willing to go into the hard areas, but he's not about to open a can of whoop ass when he gets there.

Well at least he'll be easy to stick in the press box if we're lucky and one of our young forwards becomes relevant and makes the team. A signing off the scrap heap is all I was expecting so no surprises.

Pretty much. That's my hope for the intentions here. He should fit the system perfectly.

You're calling it a day 63 minutes into free agency?

every year we run into a moment in free agency where we go "what is happening" and every year Maloney and Tippett find players who fit our system like a glove.

No but I'm not hoping for anything this year. I was hoping for a big signing to add some excitement the last few years and was always disappointed. This year I'm very grounded. With the ownership situation I expect a guy or two like this and nothing else. I sit on the end we shoot twice and would love to see somebody to bring some offensive excitement. Maybe DM makes a big trade but I can't see anything FA-wise until after the ownership situation is settled.

Excatly!

If anything, I like this signing as long as he is not a center and replacing either Burle or Pyatt.

Better not be that high, guy shouldn't be getting a raise for injured all the time. I already don't like that its a 2 year deal.
