After an impressive maneuver Tuesday to get itself in front of free-agent Ryan Suter, the Wild has agreed to terms on a 13-year contract with defenseman Ryan Suter, sources say.

But the Wild’s not done in its attempt to shake a hockey-mad market into a frenzy.

According to sources, the Wild was working on agreeing to terms with Minneapolis-born Zach Parise on a 13-year deal.

Well, Russo is pretty damn reliable.

Guess it's on to the trade market for defense.

Jaybo come on down.

@The_Creasy: #Penguins are livid. Verbal agreement broken. It happens. Suter + Parise's wife seem to have convinced Parise to join him in Minnesota.

Puts a smile on my face for the first time this FA

Penguins:

Good for the Wild. It's a huge loss for Detroit to miss out on Suter.

So, with Minnesota as my closest geographically placed team to me, I'm jumping on their bandwagon as this team is filled with stupid fat **** worthless **** bag mother crap ass butt nuggets who do nothing but eat and coach and swear and fat ****.

God damn Boudreau. God damn McPhee.

If Parise and Suter got so much attention, I'm struggling to imagine what it's going to like next offseason, when Perry, Getzlaf, and Weber could hit the open market.

Good for the Wild. Good fan base that could use better than what they've been given.

I assume this will open up the market.

Watch the Pens sign Semin now. Him playing with Crosby and Malkin is a dangerous thought.

What's funny is they're still not contenders and I don't see them getting much better.

Love that the Pens did nothing to upgrade.

And there's nothing left to upgrade that abysmal defense.

Minny gets Parise AND Suter? Awesome. Wonder if they look to cut salary, like Heatley.

Minnesota? I don't see why you wouldn't think they're contenders. They were among the best teams in the league before Koivu went down. Now they've added Parise, and Suter,

Capgeek's got the Suter and Parise cap hits at just over $7.5M, FWIW.

-49 Goal differential for the year. Parise, Suter and healthy Koivu makes them average to slightly above. Not contenders.
