Yea, well, Wait until Semin comes back with #56.

Twice the Semin, a little bit better than Schultz.

I'd chip in a couple bucks if it would stop all of this "Caps are a lottery team with their current lineup" crap.

Its my impression that Beagle is a better shutdown defender than "Like". Yes, Laich provides more offense, but that offense has almost always come off the wing as a supporting player. So, you are using your 2nd best checking center instead of your best and using him in a position where he is less laichly(you like that?) to be offensively successful. Thats not a recipe for success.

@strung: I'd like to see Chimera in a position to back up his goal scoring of last season and clutch playoff scoring of the last two playoffs rather than dismiss it as a fluke and line him up with players that won't score much. I also dont think Chimera is close to the Caps two or three best checking wingers.

Could always slide him to the RW. Flip him and Brouwer with whoever works with who.

Ovie - Backstrom - Brouwer
Laich - Ribeiro - Chimera
Mojo - Beagle - Ward

Or even...

Ovie - Ribeiro - Chimera
Laich - Backstrom - Brouwer

Or something.

Its nice having two centers for those top lines already set.

Mojo in a non-top six role is "mother of god!"

All of this "center depth" that we have now is pretty meaningless given that after OV...we have zero offensive threats. So for four Top Six wing positions...we have ONE of them filled with a legit plug.

I thought most of Chimera's points came early when he was with Laich?

My "okay, I'll stop *****ing" moves...

1. Trade for Ryan.
2. Sign Semin.
3. Sign AK74.
4. Sign Mueller.
5. Sign Wolski.

Seriously, one more top six player and I'll stop.

Where did you get that figure? The correct number is $2,875,000.

Edit: Damn too slow. The number you gave is exactly twice the correct number. Perhaps someone did some bad math somewhere along the line.

Trading for Ryan is not realistic unless you're willing to part with Kuznetsov or Forsberg. Are you?

MaJo and Kuznetsov might be enough to get Ryan.

If I can get almost anything for Kuznetsov, I do it. If his value is really high enough that I only need to throw in a bit to land a player like Bobby Ryan? Oh **** yes. I think Bobby Ryan is probably one of the most underappreciated players in the league.

I laught at all those 2nd line suggestions. Two grinders surrounding a set up guy? LOL. Oh, sure, that is really going to be enough to win it all.

I'd rather keep Kuzy, and offer Galiev and a first, + Mojo or Laich.

Or Green + Laich.

Since they said they were interested in young 2Cs, MoJo is what they would be after. To compete with Philadelphia you'd probably have to beat their young centermen in a deal.

I'm actually thinking that Semin stays the hell away from Detroit if he wants to get a cup, they are not in any position to win in the near future even with him on board. I bet he goes to some easy living team like Florida or San Jose.

What exactly have we had the last 5 years? Semin + 2 hole fillers. Now it's Ribeiro and +2 hole fillers.

Yeah and that great 2nd line really worked out for us before, didn't it?

Like I said earlier... Sideways move. Our 2nd line is no better.

Re-****ing-Sign Sasha.
