Those two are more similar than Semin fans want to admit.

It's a wash really. I'll take the Center over the Wing after 6 years of trying the Wing.

Why not just both?

After 6 years of trying the Wing with no ****ing Center.

The problems is McPhee is too risk averse. He will go into the season with more glaring holes (wing) and then try to patch it up at the deadline with some average player. He should address the team now, we have the cap space. Sign Semin, at least attempt to trade for Ryan. If you only care about keeping every nut, we are basically just rebuilding continually and probably will never take a real chance at the Cup.

Oh, I'd lean on it being a "wash" as well.

With that "wash" where the **** have we gotten in the last decade?

Semin had his chance with Ovy and Backstrom and never showed an increase in production, so why assume some other fantasy center will suddenly click with Semin?

It's time to move on. Should be abundantly clear by now. You guys are starting to sound like desperate jilted girlfriends....

Inquired on the Stars board... Ribeiro's main line mates were Eriksson and Ryder...

Yeah, he's going to ****ing thrive with Laich and Brouwer.

Give him a scorer. A free one. That we don't have to give up any assets for.

Re-sign Sasha.

I know, and Riberio is not a commitment. He probably thinks MoJo can become the 2C, which is false. MoJo will never score 80 points ever, he's not at Rib's talent level and never will be. What then (next year)? So we have an average 2C and a rookie winger (forsberg). That's sounds just like a cup winning team there.

Alex Semin doesn't hold the key to this franchise's success. They failed with him and they're just as likely to fail without him.

How many teams have 30-40 goal scoters on the second line?

I'd rather have him on the second line than a couple of grinders. Rib is used to playing with talent, that is why he racked up those assists. He's not a goal scorer, he's no Malkin or Crosby. He's a setup man.

How many teams can win the cup. Do we want to be another average team? It seems like you do. Anyway, we don't have the goalie, or the D to compensate like other teams (Kings) do.

Yeah let's take a 14 game sample size in a playoffs where we barely ****ing scored and use it as clear cut evidence he shouldn't come back.

Backstrom and Semin did not have the cemistry, which takes months to develop. Also, he was not his usual old Backie after that injury.

Yup, 23 year old goalies have never before hit their ceiling.

Andrew Raycroft, Jim Carey, Steve Penney, Ray Emery, Blaine Lacher, etc. continued to progress well into their 20s.

You know how when someone really doesn't have a point? They deflect and change the subject entirely.

No, let's use a 150 game sample where he did jack **** and give him 35 million bucks.

How many goals did we score as a team in the entire playoffs?

Not many. There were 30 players in the league last year with 30+ goals.

Like what you're doing right now? Who was talking about goalies?

And yes. Those goalies are the rule. All the other hundreds of goalies that didn't peak at 23 are just the exceptions.

This. The free agency this year has shown how (at least with the fans) that there's plenty of people that will change their stance on a player when they lose out on the grand prize(s) and still need to re-tool their teams.

FFS, people are looking at AK74 as a solid addition at this point.. As long as McPhee doesn't get abused on the term/cap-hit (which we all know he's afraid of), what's the problem?
