Wild players ecstatic. Heatley says he spoke with Suter 2 nights ago and swapped texts with Parise. Both asked: can we win. Answer: yes.
Good to hear. I imagine Heater, Koivu, and the rest of the guys are thrilled. It'll take some pressure off of Granlund and probably Koivu too, which is a good thing.
I can sympathize with Devils and Preds fans to an extent. Both guys were a part of their franchises for quite a while and both walked away for free. Very similar to the Gabby situation.
Hey guys, Leafs fan here. I'm actually really happy for you guys. You have the most passionate fans in the USA IMO, and didn't have to blatantly tank on a yearly basis like some teams (*cough* Edmonton *cough*).
I love seeing the poor get rich, and passionate, patient fan bases get rewarded. Hopefully our time comes soon too. All the best!
No, I think it's really really cool, and truly appreciate it from all the people taking their time to do it.
THANK YOU ALL!!
It's nice not feeling like we're in a tiny hole anymore.
THAT is how Minnesota should be! Zach Parise just went up in my book. Obviously I'd love him on my team and it would be nice for him to go back to NJ, but to take less money to sign at "home." Unbelievable. Both of these guys are class acts and the only thing people will be upset about is that they aren't on their team. Truly a great day for hockey in the USA!
I'm ****ing crying hear !!! I can believe that we did it, but at matching cap hits !!!! Only in my Wildest dreams, but today we entered the world of being relevant.
The next 5-7 years ought to be an awesome time to be a Wild fan. Dunno about the 6-8 years after that, but that'll just have to worry about itself for right now!
Congrats guys. With the improvements made to each of its teams (assuming Vancouver gets something for Luongo) I look forward to a much more competitive Northwest Division this season.
Feel good story of free agency (if you're not a PIT/PHI/DET fan). Wanted to see you guys sign them instead of seeing them forming a powerhouse in Pittsburgh.
Excited for the Wild, not excited to have to (eventually) see them play the Jets many times a year with this kind of lineup for the next 13 years. Well deserved for Minnesota.
