What are you guys going to do with all your RFAs and UFAs? are you worried about losing any?

I'm sure you're aware of all of them, but here's a link:

We've got so much coming off the books and so many prospects turning pro, it won't matter.

Not even the least bit worried about losing anyone. We have a ridiculous amount of cap space coming open next year, and are already all done with RFAs (other than minor leaguers and Falk) for this year.

What about him? He's Humpty Dumpty at this point and one good check away from being a scrambled egg.

If he's in the lineup I imagine we move Cullen down to a winger on the 3rd line.

What about Kurtis Foster? Do you think you'll be able to retain him?

Thing is now Cal can settle into his proper role as 3rd line agitator deluxe, with 15-20 goals a season. No need to dream of top 6 duty anymore Calvin, now go hit some people.

The better question is why would be want to?

Suter-Brodin
Gilbert-Scandella
Spurgeon-Stoner
Kampfer/etc.

We don't need him anymore.

It's fun having some fans upset/mad/bitter that we signed both Parise and Suter. Although for the most part they've been pretty happy for us, which is fun too

I see, I'm not too familiar with minnesota's defensive core.

If you had Foster as well as the above listed players, where do you see Foster fitting into that lineup?

I admit it, i'm happy to see some of the Pens beat writers squirm (the ones that wrote MN off the list so early in the process and penciled in the Pens as the sure fire winners in all this).

I'm a little concerned next season but this isn't the NBA so its unlikely teams will try to pry Scandella, Spurgeon, Hackett, and Clutterbuck. Depends on how they play next year too.

Goaltending is a concern moving forward though, as Harding's under contract and Hackett's going to be in the NHL in 13-14. Not really the "ideal" tandem but a year has to play out before that.

Well he's going to have to be alot better than he was last year to score 15-20 goals with much less opportunities. Just like Brodziak's numbers should drop if he's not playing close to 20 minutes a game, which is ridiculous for a #3C.

I think Granlund will slot 2nd line center, and Cullen can move down to the 3rd line when he starts playing like the 2nd half Cullen that he always does. He gets that hot start then just sucks it up for the rest of the year.

I'd like to see Koivu with Granlund, but why not something like:

Parise - Koivu - Heatley
PMB - Granlund - Seto
Cullen - Brodziak - Clutter
Mitchell - Konopka - Powe
Kassian/Veilleux

with a few options down in the minors depending on who gets hurt during the season. You can call up a Coyle to help the 2nd line instead of moving Clutterbuck or Cullen up. We have the makings to be a very, very strong team next year.

The defense pairings are a little bit more murky for me.

He would be fighting with Kampfer et al. for the #7 spot (and losing, too).

Russo said that Cullen is going to the 2nd line LW. Setoguchi is the 2nd line RW.

That leads me to think that Bouchard might not be in the picture next year. Concussions are scary.

Other teams dramatically underestimate our bottom 6.

Kings fans are talking how we have 0 depth.

Kyle Brodziak outscored their entire 3rd line and he will be our 3rd line center.

Parise-Koivu-Heatley
Cullen-Granlund-Setoguchi
Mitchell-Brodziak-Clutterbuck
Powe-Konopka/Dowe-Kassian

Suter-Gilbert
Scandella-Spurgeon
Stoner-Kampfer
Falk/Prosser

Backstrom
Harding

That's a playoff team. Get a great 2nd line LW and maybe a top-4 Dman via trade, and we are a Stanley Cup Contender.

That also says Granlund will play center.

Granlund and Bouchard on the same line just seems too small and weak.

I'm with you here. I had Heatley and Bouchard switched on my lineup. That's an interesting debate. I think it will be something they'll have to see if it "clicks" in camp. Having Cullen on the 3rd line wouldn't be so bad.

As for the defense, I haven't commented on yet, but I'd have to think that it would be hard to pencil in Brodin for #1 pairing right away. I like the idea of Suter-Gilbert better than that. Only pencil Brodin in if he's ready.

That's weird.

He's ready to play.
