Landeskog-O'Reilly-Downie
Parenteau-Duchene-Hejduk
McGinn-Backlund-Jones
McLeod-Mitchell-Kobasew

Bouwmeester-Johnson
Wilson-Hejda/O'Byrn
Zanon-Elliot/Barrie

Looks pretty good, Backlund can fit in the #3 centre slot.

The Blues aren't going to move Berglund for Bouwmeester, so I wouldn't hold out much hope of that happening any time soon.

Feaster has picked in the 2nd round three times in the last two years, smart guy.

I'd want a king's ransom in return for Bouwmeester, otherwise, we're better off keeping him.

Is the cap-hit high? Absolutley, but let's not forget that the cap has significantly increased. That, and Bouwmeester's contract runs for only another two years, so there is far less risk involved with his contract long term.

Someone will give Bouwmeester the benefit of the doubt. Calgary's image isn't exactly stellar right now and it it could be argued that playing on a mediocre team where the forwards hardly ever score in transition drags Bouwmeester down, not to mention the fact that he is overburdened with the amount of minutes he gets and his partners are usually suited to bottom pairing roles (Regehr and Butler). And before someone chimes in that Regehr isn't a bottom-pairing defensmen, he was fifth in TOI/G and eight in ESTOI/G on the Sabres. An even strength liability because he can't move the puck out of the zone.

And he got most of those from trading Erixon because he couldn't sign him.
He traded his 2010, 2011, 2012 2nd rounder(got back by trading down)

Maybe it was Sutter that traded the 2010? pick? Can't remember, point is the Flames have traded their 2nd round pick at some point in the past 3 seasons.

Its an opinion buddy.

What does the cap have to do with obtaining a player who is way overpaid for what he provides?

Like I said Smid is just as valuable at a third of the the cost.

I suppost a better compairison would be Whitney at 2/3rds the cost.

Stars would trade Fistric. He didn't emerge as a legit top 4 D. He's a bottom pairing guy.

Sutter traded the 2010 pick since than Feaster has made sure that he had a second rounder in both drafts he has done, with that said he did trade this years and next years away.

What about Bouw, Backlund for Schwartz, Cole and a 2nd/3rd?

Close enough?

Personally, that doesn't entice me at all.

If I'm dangling Schwartz out there, I'm looking for a comparable player coming back (i.e. Gormley).

I'm kind-of looking forward to seeing what JBo can do with a more offensive oriented team in front of him. I wouldn't move him unless we got a legit top 6 center back and a half-decent roster defenceman.

I don't think Bouwmeester can return either of those realistically. Some of you who are saying Coutorier / Schenn + are out of your minds. If Feaster managed that I would personally take back every bad thing I've said about him. The fact is Bouwmeester is overpaid and an above average #3 defenseman that would return probably a late 1st/early 2nd round pick and a decent prospect (though not of the calibre that we all would hope for).

I would probably do this. We need a centre. Badly. How's stastny on the dot?

Edit: looked them up, 53% average over the last two years. I am definitely in. I will drive bouwmeester to the airport and pick up a stastny flames jersey on the way home.

I know you probably don't want to part with Schenn or Couturier but I think that's what Feaster would be asking for.
Read is actually a Centre, He just played on the wing this year due to the depth on the flyers.

But if thats not what you are looking for I can understand. Really want him on the flyers though. What about

Read + Laughton(20th overall centre) + 3rd ?

Value wise that is obviously very enticing, but having said that I dont think Read would be an upgrade on Cammalleri at the center ice postion (both unproven at the NHL level).

No worries. I can't see another team in the NHL matching that offer, and if they do, good luck to them.

Nope. Swing and a miss. After all the signings on defense lately, the price of one of the best skating and big minute defensemen in the league just went up. Bailey will not get you Bouwmeester.

Yeah the Read + 1st value wise is a great offer, except we really don't need a winger right now.

No, they haven't. Blair Jones is also a center in the NHL. Using your logic, has his value increased?

As a Blues fan, I'd love to have Bouwmeester...get traded to Detroit or Nashville.
