I personally think they planned this before they hit the UFA market. Anyone remember or ever read some article posted in May of this year? Late May to be exact. Right before the Finals started. It seemed absurd at the time. Speculation of a package deal with Suter, and Parise going to the same team. Forgot why this writer said this, but I think he had it on good word or so he claimed. Only that team was expected to be Detroit. That writer looks to have been right.

The worst thing about this is I think there will definitely be a lockout. The CBA, while it had great intentions at first, has failed.

1. The cap has almost doubled from 39M to 70M. The friggin salary floor is 15 mil more than the ceiling was 6 years ago.
2. The second contract has been absolutely ruined. You now have 3 years of cost-controlled players before you basically have to pay them UFA-market value (see Crosby, Stamkos, etc.). Some unlucky teams only get one year of good production before they have to pony up (see Gilbert, Penner, Versteeg). You basically have to get lucky and have a player break out a year after signing a decent multi-year deal.
3. The low UFA age has brought about these insane long-term contracts. I know we are guilty of this with the Kovy deal but at least his AAV is way below his actual worth. Parise is legitimately worth 7.5M a year but he gets it for 13 instead of the 7 I'd give to him.

The system is breaking. The cap just plain needs to stop escalating. I know people crap on baseball's system all the time but at least there you can build a cost-controlled young team like the Rays and you dont have to pay your players big bucks until after a few years.

Let's all go with "leftwing"'s idea.

Mail in your Parise related material to Zach' address. I have a Parise tee that's too small anyways. I dont know what to do with it.

I'm over it. He holds a special spot in my heart from seeing him live at UND and 7 yrs in a devs jersey. I may be in the minority but I wish him the best in minny. Will still rock his jerseys to the rock next season and watch his games when the devs aren't on...

I'm crushed, but I'm not going to drag him through the mud...

Love the idea of Doan and Semin. Would fit nicely. Get those intangibles form Doan and get the point production from Semin.

I don't know, man, his comments made me feel even worse about the situation than before. They seem to really shine on what came off as ******** and showed he never really meant what he said.

Maybe I need some time, but I just cannot look at Zach in the same light that I did.

Parise as a 21 year old 81-14-18-32 -1 2005-2006 season 5-11 185 lb. shoots left
Tedenby as a 21 year old 58-8-14-22 +3 2010-2011 season 5-10 175 lb. shoots left

but last year Tedenby declined greatly.

I hope Zach never wins another a playoff series. The guy is an all-talk hypocrite. He never cared about success or loyalty, as long as he got to play alongside his buddy making enough millions. He's into Paul Martin and Jay Bouwmeester territory in terms of happy with "just alright". He was never a "winner".

I think both of those posts are correct. It was planned out but Suter's main goal was to get the most money (and stay out West) so he didn't seem quite as married to the plan as Zach, Parise's main goal was to play with Suter in Minnesota.

Tedenby also played 5 minutes a game on a "good" night, last year on the fourth line.

I want to see memes with '365 days until Zach Parise's last goal'...too much to hope for right now though

I don't know if any of you have seen the Wild play but man if people think we play boring then they will fall asleep before the pucks drops in Minny. I doubt one forward and a D-man can make them that much more interesting

Tedenby shouldn't have been up here as long as he was this past season if he wasn't going to be deployed properly. To be blunt, if it wasn't for the insane amount of injuries the roster suffered in 2010-11, he probably wouldn't have even been called-up in the first place. He's still a developing player, which is why he was sent back to the minors. He hit a bit of a bump in the road, but writing off makes no sense at this point. He knows that he's got a real good opportunity coming up and I think the team has confidence he can contribute this year.
