don't cry over Feds. he hasn't been effective since last season. that ship has sailed. Pyatt is an upgrade by far.

When it's a one year deal, paying more is expected. It's no overpayment.

Feds was a nice player, but he's getting up there in age... I think it was a smart move to go a bit younger...

How did Lou miss him? Perfect replacement for Parise.

Eminger is the only unsigned former Ranger without a contract. Arthur Staple wrote the Islanders were interested in him.

Nash or Heater.... ?

I kind of like the idea of Heatley being a 2 year deal... Let's see what he's got.

Liked Feds but he looked a step slower this past season. Good teammate but it's not such a bad thing that the Rangers have moved on from him.

None of those players are as as useful as Fedotenko.

yea no doubt it was the right move letting him go. Adds a vet 4th liner to the Flyers. Likely replacing Jagrs vet presence. Is Gervais there 6th Dman now? Just depth moves for them so whatever

Someone want to start a "Fedotenko is a traitor/overrated" thread?

It happens. Sometimes guys are NHL ready early but do not grow their games a ton.

He was before this signing too. It's his second time in Philly.

probably a non-issue, but do you think the Rangers dump and grind (had to concentrate pretty hard so as not to type "bump and grind"), shot blocking style of game is hurting their chances when it comes to the bigger FA guys? Would people like Parise (yes, he signed with MN for family reasons... but still) or Semin etc really want to come here and get peppered with pucks on a daily basis?

Fedotenko does all the little things needed to win games, except score. He was a no brainer to put in important situations because Tortorella knew he had the defensive zone covered, plus he forechecked/protected the puck well. I think the Rangers are going to miss him to a certain degree. However, his leaving does upgrade team speed by subtraction.

Torts adjusts sets the style of play based on the talent on the roster. It should be a non-issue.

Is gabby not expected to get down infront of shots then? (serious question; don't know).

At this point, Pyatt is superior to Feds.

We need goals... Heater has the touch. Whatever baggage he may have, the guy knows how to finish and he'd only be a 2 year commitment, as opposed to someone like Semin or Nash
